Amendment of Standard Specification
PURSUANT to the Standards Act 1941 and the regulations made thereunder, the Minister of Industries and Commerce, on 13 March 1956, amended the undermentioned standard specification by the incorporation of the amendment shown hereunder:
Number and Title of Specification: N.Z.S.S. 1240: Safety requirements for electric fires, being B.S. 1670 : 1951, amended to meet New Zealand requirements.
Amendment: No. 2A, March 1956.
Price of Copy (post free): 2s. 6d.
Application for copies of the standard specification so amended should be made to the N.Z. Standards Institute, Hamilton Chambers, 201 Lambton Quay (P.O. Box 195), Wellington C. 1. Copies of the amendment will be supplied, free of charge, upon request.

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 8 of the Standards Act 1941, notice is hereby given that the above draft New Zealand standard specification is being circulated. All persons who may be affected by this specification and who desire to comment thereon may, on application, obtain copies free of charge from the N.Z. Standards Institute, 201 Lambton Quay (P.O. Box 195), Wellington C. 1.

Boundaries of City of Gisborne and County of Cook Defined
PURSUANT to section 26 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby defines, as set out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the City of Gisborne, the County of Cook, and the Whatapoko Riding of the County of Cook, the previous boundaries having been altered by Order in Council dated 29 August 1955 and published in Gazette, 1 September 1955, No. 56, page 1378.

ALL that area in the Gisborne Land District bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the northern side of Cochrane Street with part Section 9, Block II, Turanganui Survey District; thence south-easterly and north-easterly by the southern and eastern boundaries of Sections 11, 20, and part 9, to and across Gladstone Road, and by that line produced to the right bank of the Taruheru River; thence in an easterly direction along the right bank of the said Taruheru River to the north-western side of Lytton Road; thence northerly and easterly along the production of that side of Lytton Road, across the Taruheru River and by the left bank of said Taruheru River to the south-eastern corner of Lot 4, Deeds Plan 168, part Whataupoko No. 3 Block;
