Declaring Lands in Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, and Southland Land Districts Vested in the Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, and Southland Education Boards as Sites for Public Schools to be Vested in Her Majesty the Queen

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS by subsection (6) of section 5 of the Education Lands Act 1949 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) it is provided that, notwithstanding anything contained in any other Act, the Governor-General may from time to time, by Proclamation, declare that any school site or part of a school site which in his opinion is no longer required for that purpose shall be vested in Her Majesty, and thereupon the school site, or part thereof, as the case may be, shall vest in Her Majesty, freed and discharged from every educational trust affecting the same, but subject to all leases, encumbrances, liens, or easements, affecting the same at the date of the Proclamation:

Now, therefore, pursuant to subsection (6) of section 5 of the said Act, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the First Schedule hereto, being an area vested in the Hawke’s Bay Education Board, and the land described in the Second Schedule hereto being an area vested in the Taranaki Education Board, and the land described in the Third Schedule hereto, being an area vested in the Southland Education Board, as sites for public schools, shall be vested in Her Majesty the Queen, freed and discharged from every educational trust affecting the same, but subject to all leases, encumbrances, liens, or easements affecting the same at the date hereof.

SECTION 7, Block XV, Tahoraiti Survey District: Area, 2 acres 2 roods, more or less.

PART Section 9, Block XI, Ngaere Survey District: Area, 1 acre 1 rood 22 perches, more or less. Part certificate of title, Volume 71, folio 145. As shown on the plan marked L. and S. 6/6/1207 deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (S.O. Plan 8753.)

Crown Land Set Apart for a University College, in the City of Auckland

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart for a university college; and I also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the 5th day of March 1956.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of Crown land set apart: 2 acres and 6·5 perches.

Being part Section S.W. 34, City of Auckland.

Situated in Block VIII, Rangitoto Survey District, Auckland R.D. (S.O. 39323.)

In the North Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 149518 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 28th day of February 1956.
