RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
The Wellington City Housing Loan No. 4, 1953, of £43,000
WHEREAS the Wellington City Council, by Order in Council dated the 7th day of April 1954, published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 25 of the 22nd day of April 1954, at page 619, was authorized to raise the Wellington City Housing Loan No. 4, 1953, of £43,000, on the conditions therein set forth: and whereas by resolution passed on the 16th day of June 1954 the said Council made and levied a special rate of twenty-one eight-hundredths of a penny (21/800d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the City of Wellington: and whereas the said special rate was calculated on the basis of the said loan being for a period of thirty-five (35) years: and whereas the said loan will be for a period of twenty (20) years and it is desirable to amend the said special rate by increasing it from twenty-one eight-hundredths of a penny (21/800d.) in the pound to twenty-eight eight-hundredths of a penny (28/800d.) in the pound: Now, therefore, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and its amendments, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, repayment of principal, and other charges on a loan of forty-three thousand pounds (£43,000), to be known as the Wellington City Housing Loan No. 4, 1953, of £43,000, authorized to be raised by the Wellington City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of erecting workers’ dwellings with garages for occupation by Corporation employees, the Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of twenty-eight eight-hundredths of a penny (28/800d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the whole of the City of Wellington; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
The above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Wellington City Council held on the 7th day of February 1955.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act 1933 and the Public Works Act 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Nelson City Council proposes under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts to execute a certain public work, namely, the taking of land for the extending of a public street known as Gorrie Street in the City of Nelson, and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken: and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council, situate in Trafalgar Street, and is open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Town Clerk at the Council Chambers, Trafalgar Street.
