Revoking a Warrant Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality and Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the Purposes of Section 36 of the Transport Act 1949

PURSUANT to section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby revokes that Warrant dated the 20th day of December 1951* which refers to part of the area described in the Schedule hereto, and hereby declares the area described in the said Schedule to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of the said section to the intent that a person driving any motor vehicle on any road therein shall be subject to the maximum speed limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Makara County—

All those roads within Titahi Bay Township, including all that portion of the Porirua – Titahi Bay Main Highway No. 458 commencing at a point 2 chains measured along the said main highway in a south-westerly direction from its junction with Onepoto Road and terminating at the end of the said main highway at Titahi Bay.

Revoking Portion of a Warrant Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality and Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the Purposes of Section 36 of the Transport Act 1949

——

PURSUANT to section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby revokes that portion of the Warrant dated the 11th day of January 1938* which refers to part of the area described in the Schedule hereto, and hereby declares the area described in the said Schedule to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of the said section to the intent that a person driving any motor vehicle on any road therein shall be subject to the maximum speed limit of thirty miles an hour.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Waiapu County—

All that area at Ruatoria Township adjoining and comprising the roads hereinafter described:

(1) Mangakino-Waiomatatini Main Highway No. 336 commencing at a point 5 chains measured along the said main highway in a northerly direction from its junction with Tuparoa Road and terminating at a point 3 chains measured along the said main highway in a south-westerly direction from its junction with Mangaharei Street.

(2) Tuparoa Road, from its junction with the Mangakino-Waiomatatini Main Highway to a point 5 chains measured along the said road in an easterly direction from the said junction.

Special Order Made by the Coromandel County Council Declaring That Sections 121 and 131 of the Counties Act 1920 Shall Not Apply to That Council

PURSUANT to section 2 of the Counties Amendment Act 1931, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby publishes the following special order made by the Coromandel County Council.

SPECIAL ORDER

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by section 2 of the Counties Amendment Act 1931, the Coromandel County Council hereby resolves by way of special order and declares that sections 121 and 131 of the Counties Act 1920 shall not apply to the Council after the close of the present financial year, viz., the 31st day of March 1956.

I hereby certify that the above special order has been duly made.

CERTIFICATE OF EXECUTION

I, ALAN ASHLEY SKINNER, the Medical Officer in attendance at the execution of Harvey Eric Allwood at the prison of Auckland, do hereby certify and declare that I have this day witnessed the execution of the said Harvey Eric Allwood at the said prison; and I do further certify and declare that the said Harvey Eric Allwood was, in pursuance of the sentence of the Supreme Court, hanged by the neck until his body was dead.

(Given under my hand this 13th day of October 1955 at the prison of Auckland.

DECLARATION OF EXECUTION

We do hereby testify and declare that we have this day been present when the extreme penalty of the law was carried into execution on the body of Harvey Eric Allwood, convicted at the criminal sittings of the Supreme Court held at Invercargill on the 26th day of August last and sentenced to death, and that the said Harvey Eric Allwood was in pursuance of the said sentence hanged by the neck until his body was dead.

Dated this 13th day of October 1955 at the prison of Auckland.
