IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION

NOTICE is hereby given that in pursuance of section 232 of the Companies Act 1933 a general meeting of the South Canterbury Picture Show Company Limited (in voluntary liquidation) will be held at the office of the liquidator, Railway Terrace, Temuka, on Wednesday, 14 December 1955, at 4 p.m.

Business: To receive the liquidator’s account and final report on the winding-up of the affairs of the company.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION

In the matter of the Industrial and Provident Societies Act 1908 and in the matter of the West Moutere Fruitpackers Limited.

NOTICE is hereby given that by an entry in its minute book the above-named society on the 23rd day of November 1955 passed the following special resolutions:

“(a) That the society be wound up voluntarily, and that Leslie William Leppien, of Motueka, Public Accountant, be and he is hereby appointed liquidator for the purposes of such winding-up.

“(b) That pursuant to Rule 15 the surplus assets of the society be distributed amongst shareholders in proportion to the number of shares held by each.”

APPLICATION TO ALTER COURSE OF WATER RACE

UNDER THE MINING ACT 1926

NOTICE is hereby given that Her Majesty the Queen has applied to alter the course of Water Race Licence No. 1262 (Cromwell) as follows: Commencing at a point in Locher Creek approximately 60 chains above the Cromwell-Wanaka Highway, running thence in a south-easterly direction through unalienated Crown land, being part Section 4, Block II, Tarras District, a distance of 59 chains to the Cromwell-Wanaka State Highway, crossing that highway at a point 70 yards south of the existing race and terminating in part Section 4, Block II, Tarras Survey District, the alteration of course being shown by a broken blue line on the plan annexed to the application.

The application will be heard at the Warden’s Court, Cromwell, on Wednesday, 7 December 1955, at 10 a.m., and objections must be filed in the Registrar’s office at least three days prior to that date.

AKAROA COUNTY COUNCIL

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Akaroa County Council at its meeting held on the 25th day of November 1955 has resolved to prepare for the County of Akaroa a district scheme as required by the provisions of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953.

Every person and every local authority in the district is hereby invited to submit any proposals which, in his or its opinion, should be considered in the preparation of the proposed scheme.

Proposals marked “Akaroa County District Scheme” should be addressed to the County Clerk, and delivered at the County Clerk’s Office on or before the 31st day of January 1956.

INVERCARGILL CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATES

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Invercargill City Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of principal, interest, and other charges on the loans shown hereunder, authorized by the ratepayers and by special order to be raised by the Invercargill City Council under the abovementioned Act for carrying out the works enumerated on the respective ballot papers and special orders, the said Council hereby makes and levies the several special rates shown hereunder, each being levied on the rateable value on the basis of the unimproved value of all rateable property in the City of Invercargill; and that each such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the particular loan in respect of which it is levied, and be payable on the 1st day of December in each and every year during the currency of such loan, or until the loan is fully paid off.
