PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948 as from the 21st day of November 1955.

Declaring Land Acquired for a Government Work and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land Subject to a Building-line Restriction and Revoking Previous Notice

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby revokes the Notice dated the 7th day of October 1955 and published in Gazette, 13 October 1955, No. 63, page 1628, declaring land acquired for a Government work and not required for that purpose to be Crown land, subject to a building-line restriction, and hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto, subject to building-line restriction No. 346015, Canterbury Land Registry, to be deemed to have been Crown land for purposes of the Land Act 1948, subject to the aforesaid restriction, as from the 14th day of December 1954.

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works declares the land described in the Schedule hereto, together with the benefit of stormwater and drainage rights reserved by Memorandum of Transfer No. 50730, Nelson Land Registry, to be deemed to have been Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948, together with the benefit of the aforesaid stormwater and drainage rights, as from the 25th day of August 1955.

Revoking a Warrant Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality and Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the Purposes of the Transport Act 1949, Section 36

PURSUANT to section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby revokes that warrant dated the 1st day of November 1954* relating to a closely populated locality in Levels County, and hereby declares the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of the said section to the intent that a person driving any motor vehicle on any road therein shall be subject to the maximum speed limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Levels County—

All that area at Pleasant Point consisting of—

(1) Timaru-Cromwell via Lindis State Highway No. 60 (that portion commencing at a point 5 chains measured along the said State highway in a south-easterly direction from its junction with George Street and terminating at a point 20 chains measured along the said State highway in an easterly direction from its junction with Maze’s Road).

(2) Temuka – Pleasant Point Main Highway No. 145 (that portion commencing at its junction with the Timaru-Cromwell via Lindis State Highway No. 60 and terminating at a point on the said main highway opposite the northern boundary of the Pleasant Point school grounds, a distance of approximately 29 chains).

(3) Pleasant Point – Fairlie Main Highway No. 298 (that portion commencing at its junction with the Timaru-Cromwell via Lindis State Highway No. 60 and terminating at a point 36 chains measured along the said main highway from the commencing point).

(4) Afghan Street (that portion commencing at its junction with the Timaru-Cromwell via Lindis State Highway and terminating at its junction with Shere Street).

(5) Cabul Street (that portion from its north-western end and terminating at its junction with Shere Street).

(6) Khyber Street (that portion from Cabul Street to Afghan Street).

(7) Khan Street (that portion from Cabul Street to Afghan Street).

(8) Shere Street (that portion from Cabul Street to Afghan Street).
