Revocation of Appointment of Certain Garage Proprietor for Issue of Warrants of Fitness
PURSUANT to regulation 11 of the Traffic Regulations 1936, the Minister of Transport hereby revokes the approval of the firm described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of the issue of warrants of fitness for motor vehicles.

Appointing a Commission to Inquire Into the Constitution of an Underground Water Area in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay
PURSUANT to section 4 of the Underground Water Act 1953, the Minister of Works hereby appoints
Frank Felix Reid, Esquire, of Wellington, Stipendiary Magistrate,
Horace Edwin Fyfe, of Wellington, Chief Geologist, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, and
Harry Lancelot Hume, of Wellington, Civil Engineer, Ministry of Works,
to be a Commission of which the said Frank Felix Reid shall be Chairman—
(a) To inquire into the proposals of the Hastings Borough Council, the Hawlock North Borough Council, the Hawke’s Bay Catchment Board, the Hawke’s Bay County Council, the Napier City Council, and the Taradale Borough Council relating to the constitution of portion of the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay as an underground water area and the constitution of an Underground Water Committee for that area comprising nine members of whom it is proposed the Napier City Council, the Hastings Borough Council, and the Hawke’s Bay County Council shall each appoint and shall each be represented by two members, and the remaining aforesaid local authorities shall each appoint and shall each be represented by one member;
(b) To consider all objections and appeals lodged in respect of those proposals; and
(c) To report to me not later than the 1st day of March 1956 in accordance with subsection (6) of the said section 4 of the Underground Water Act.

PURSUANT to section 2 (1) (f) of the National Art Gallery and Dominion Museum Amendment Act 1936, His Excellency the Governor-General in Council has been pleased to appoint the following persons to be members of the Board of Trustees of the National Art Gallery and Dominion Museum:

for a term of three years from 26 November 1955;
Major-General Sir Howard Karl Kippenberger, K.B.E., C.B., D.S.O., E.D.,
for a term of three years from 18 October 1955;
Ernest Edward Muir, Esquire,
for a term of three years from 31 August 1955, as representing the Wellington War Memorial Carillon Society;
The person for the time being in office as Mayor of the City of Lower Hutt,
for a term of three years from 12 October 1955, as representing local authorities (other than the Wellington City Council and the Wellington Harbour Board) that are empowered to contribute to the Board’s funds.
