PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the
Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in

1955.

First Election of Clutha Licensing Trust

PURSUANT to the Licensing Trusts Act 1949, the Minister
of Justice hereby appoints Saturday, the 10th day of
December 1955, as the day for the first election of members
of the Clutha Licensing Trust; and hereby appoints Ernest
Edward Barnett, Town Clerk of the Borough of Balclutha, to
be the Returning Officer for the Clutha Licensing Trust
District at that election.

First Election of Mataura Licensing Trust

PURSUANT to the Licensing Trusts Act 1949, the Minister
of Justice hereby appoints Saturday, the 10th day of
December 1955, as the day for the first election of members

Charles Gimblett, County Clerk of the County of Southland,
to be the Returning Officer for the Mataura Licensing Trust
District at that election.

Plants Declared Noxious Weeds in the Town District of
Hikurangi (Notice No. Ag. 5986)

PURSUANT to the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, and acting
under a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture for
the purposes of the said Act, the Acting Director-General
of Agriculture hereby publishes the following Special Order
made by the Hikurangi Town Council on the 20th day of
September 1955.

SPECIAL ORDER

THAT in pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it
under the Municipal Corporations’ Act 1954, the Hikurangi
Town Council declares by way of Special Order that each and
all of the plants mentioned in the Schedule hereunder are
noxious weeds within the meaning of the Noxious Weeds Act
1950, within the boundaries of the Hikurangi Town District:

Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus and Rubus laciniatus).
Californian thistle, Canadian thistle, or creeping thistle
(Cirsium arvense).
Gorse (Ulex, any species).
Hemlock (Conium maculatum).
Nodding thistle (Carduus nutans).
Ragwort (Senecio jacobaea).
Winged thistle (Carduus tenuiflorus and Carduus pycno-
cephalus).
