BOROUGH OF ROTORUA
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Land for Housing Loan 1954, £11,000
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and its amendments and all other powers in that behalf enabling it, the Rotorua Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of eleven thousand pounds (£11,000), authorized to be raised by the Rotorua Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchasing an area of land for development for housing, the said Rotorua Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal nought seven eight pence (0·078d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) on all rateable property in the Borough of Rotorua; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate payable on demand during the currency of the said loan and to be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

EKETAHUNA COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Rural Housing Loan of £10,000, 1953
IN pursuance of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Eketa huna County Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of ten thousand pounds (£10,000), authorized to be raised by the Eketa huna County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of re-advancing by the Council under Rural Housing Act 1939 and its amendments, the said Eketa huna County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-sixth of a penny (½d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the whole of the County of Eketa huna; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATES
Workers’ Dwelling Loan No. 1, 1953, £1,850, and Workers’ Dwelling Loan No. 2, 1953, £6,000
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Eketa huna County Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on loans of:
“(a) One thousand eight hundred and fifty pounds and
“(b) Six thousand pounds,
authorized to be raised by the Eketa huna County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchase and/or erection of dwellings for the accommodation of Council employees, together with the purchase of any necessary land therefor, the Eketa huna County Council hereby makes and levies special rates as follows:
“For the loan of £1,850—A special rate of one-twentieth of a penny in the pound;
“For the loan of £6,000—A special rate of one-tenth of a penny in the pound,
upon the rateable value, on the basis of the unimproved value, of all property in the whole of the County of Eketa huna, such special rates to be annually recurring rates during the currency of the said loans and payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of the said loans or until the loans are fully paid off.”

R. L. AND M. WORTH LIMITED
IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION
In the matter of section 222 of the Companies Act 1933, and in the matter of R. L. and M. Worth Limited.
NOTICE is hereby given that by entry in the company’s minute book passed on the 25th day of January 1955 the following resolutions were duly passed:
“1. That it is desirable to reconstruct the company in order that such new company can carry on coal mining operations, and such new company to have the same share capital held in the same proportions, and that for that purpose this company be wound up voluntarily, and that John Alexander Archibald, of Otorohanga, Public Accountant, be and he is hereby appointed liquidator for the purposes of such winding-up.
“2. That the said liquidator be authorized and directed to consent to the registration of a new company having the name of R. L. and M. Worth Limited.
“3. That the said liquidator be authorized and empowered to execute an agreement whereby the assets of the company, subject to outstanding liabilities at the date of such transfer, are transferred to such new company in exchange for fully paid up shares in such new company, such shares to be issued on the basis of one fully paid up £1 share for each fully paid £1 share held by the shareholders of this company.”

GERALDINE BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Wilson Street Bridge Loan 1954, £2,600
IN pursuance of the powers vested in it on that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Geraldine Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of two thousand six hundred pounds (£2,600), authorized to be raised by the Geraldine Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing a concrete footbridge across the Waihi River at Wilson Street, the said Geraldine Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven-eighths of one penny in the pound (⅞d.) on the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Geraldine; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

SOUTHLAND CATCHMENT BOARD
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR SOIL CONSERVATION AND RIVER-CONTROL PURPOSES IN BLOCKS XXIV, XXVI, AND XXVII, TOWN OF LUMSDEN
NOTICE is hereby given that the Southland Catchment Board proposes under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928 to carry out certain river-control works, and that for that purpose the pieces of land described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken for soil conservation and river-control purposes, including the construction and maintenance of a flood-protection bank and the planting and growing of trees to prevent soil erosion; and notice is hereby further given that the plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the office of the Southland Catchment Board at Esk Street, Invercargill, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of such works or the taking of such lands should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such lands, set forth the same in writing and send such writing within forty days from the date of this notice (being the date of the first publication thereof) to the Southland Catchment Board, Esk Street, Invercargill.
