Reciprocal Enforcement of Maintenance Orders in the Falkland Islands
It is notified for general information that maintenance orders made in New Zealand may now be enforced in the Falkland Islands. A Proclamation of the Governor of the Falkland Islands dated 7 April 1954 extended the Maintenance Orders (Facilities for Enforcement) Ordinance of 27 September 1921 to maintenance orders made by Courts in New Zealand.

Time and Place of Elections by Fire Insurance Companies to Fill an Extraordinary Vacancy on the Marton Fire Committee and the Wanganui Fire Board
Pursuant to the provisions of the Fire Services Act 1949, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby appoints 12 noon on Tuesday, 22 February 1955, as the time, and the offices of the Council of Fire and Accident Underwriters’ Association, 97 The Terrace, Wellington, as the place for the holding of a meeting of representatives of the Insurance Companies carrying on business in New Zealand to elect a member to the Fire Committee for the Marton Urban Fire District and to the Fire Board for the Wanganui Urban Fire District.

Fixing Date on Which Certain Returns Under the Fire Services Act 1949 are to be Furnished
Pursuant to section 52 of the Fire Services Act 1949, it is hereby notified that the returns required by that section (as amended by the Fire Services Amendment Act 1953) showing the amount of premiums received by or due to Fire Insurance Companies during the year ended 31 December 1954, shall be transmitted to the Fire Service Council in the manner prescribed by the said section on or before the 28th day of February 1955.

Plants Declared Noxious Weeds in Waimarino County (Notice No. Ag. 5827)
Pursuant to the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Director-General of Agriculture, acting under a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture for the purposes of the said Act, hereby publishes the following special order made by the Waimarino County Council on the 13th day of January 1955.
SPECIAL ORDER
In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the provisions of section 3 of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Council of the County of Waimarino hereby declares that the plants in the Schedule hereto attached shall be declared noxious weeds within the district comprising the whole of the County of Waimarino as at present constituted:

Barberry (Berberis darwinii).
Barberry (Berberis vulgaris).
Sweetbriar (Rosa eglanteria syn. Rosa rubiginosa).

The Standards Act 1941—Amendment of Standard Specification
Notice is hereby given that on 26 January 1955 the undermentioned standard specification was amended by the Minister of Industries and Commerce by incorporation of the amendment shown hereunder:
Number and Title of Specification: N.Z.S.S. 546: Light gauge copper tubes for water, gas, and sanitation; being B.S. 659:1944, with Amendment PD 500, May 1946.
Amendment: No. 2A, January 1955.

Releasing Land from the Provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Ranui Development Scheme)
Pursuant to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that on the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette the land described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 19 July 1938 and published in the Gazette on 21 July 1938, page 1702.

Notice to Persons Affected by Applications for Licences Under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act 1936
Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor Spirit
A. F. Heleu, Main North Road, Wellsford, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump to be installed on service-station and garage premises at Main North Road, Wellsford.
A. Winder, Great South Road, Te Rapa, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump to be installed on garage premises at Great South Road, Te Rapa.
Reynolds Motors Ltd., Seddon Street, Raetihi, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump to be installed on transport premises of G. A. Stewart, Ameka Road, Raetihi, sales to be restricted to G. A. Stewart.
The Checker Taxi-cab Society of N.Z. Ltd., 102 Newton Road, Auckland, has applied for deletion of the special conditions attached to the company’s motor-spirits retail licence, namely—
(a) That no sales of motor spirit shall be made other than to bona fide members and employees of the society;
(b) That there shall be group buying, i.e., that there shall be no system of rebates based on the volume of individual purchases;
(c) That the return to shareholders shall be by means of dividends on reduced working expenses.
Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should, not later than 17 February, submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender.
