Releasing Land from the Provisions of Part XXIV of the
Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Whakatohea Development
Scheme)

PURSUANT to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953,
the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that on the
date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette, the land
described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to
the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953,
the said land being subject by virtue of a notice dated 16
December 1930 and published in the Gazette, 23 December
1930, Volume III, page 3908.

Revoking Declaration of Main Highway and Declaring
Public Highway to be Main Highway

—

PURSUANT to section 11 of the National Roads Act 1953,
the National Roads Board, acting with the written
approval of the Minister of Works, hereby gives notice as
follows:

1. (1) The public highway described in the First Schedule
   hereto shall cease to be a main highway.
   (2) The Order in Council made on the 2nd day of October
   1940,* declaring (inter alia) the said highway to be a main
   highway, is hereby consequentially amended by revoking so
   much of the Second Schedule as relates to the said highway.

2. The public highway described in the Second Schedule
   hereto is hereby declared to be a main highway within the
   meaning and for the purposes of the National Roads Act

4. This notice shall come into force on the date of its
   publication in the Gazette.

ROADS COUNCIL DISTRICT No. 15

ALL that public highway declared as the Tinwald-Mayfield
via Westerfield Main Highway as described in the Order in
Council dated 2 October 1940.*

SECOND SCHEDULE

ROADS COUNCIL DISTRICT No. 15

Tinwald-Mayfield via Westerfield:

All that public highway in the County of Ashburton, com-
mencing at the north-western boundary of the Borough of
Ashburton, and proceeding thence generally in a north-
westcrly direction via Lagunhor Road, Jackson’s Road, and
Shepherds Bush Road, and terminating at its junction with
the Tinwald-Mayfield-Valetta Main Highway near Mayfield,
being a distance of 17 miles 30 chains, more or less; as the
same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 146069
deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at
Wellington, and thereon coloured black.

PURSUANT to sections 11 and 12 of the National Roads
Act 1953, the National Roads Board, acting with the
written approval of the Minister of Works, hereby gives notice
as follows:

1. The portions of main highways described in the Schedule
   hereto shall cease to be designated as State highways.

2. The portions of main highways described in the Schedule
   hereto shall cease to be main highways.

3. The Order in Council made on the 2nd day of October
   1940,* declaring (inter alia) the portion of highway firstly
   described in the Schedule hereto to be main highway, is hereby
   consequentially amended by revoking so much of the Second
   Schedule thereto as relates to the said portion of highway.

4. The Order in Council made on the 23rd day of February
   1928†, declaring (inter alia) the portion of highway secondly
   described in the Schedule hereto to be main highway, is hereby
   consequentially amended by revoking so much of the Schedule
   thereto as relates to the said portion of highway.

5. This notice shall come into force on the date of its
   publication in the Gazette.

ALL that main highway in the Borough of Levin declared as
the Wangunui-Levin Main Highway as described in Order in
Council made on 2 October 1940.*

All that main highway in the Borough of Levin declared
as the Levin—Palmerston North via Shannon Main Highway
as described in Order in Council made on 23 February 1928†.

2. The portions of public highway described in the Second
   Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be main highways
   within the meaning and for the purposes of the National
   Roads Act 1953.

3. This notice shall come into force on the date of its
   publication in the Gazette.
