Alterations to the Scales of Charges Upon the New Zealand Government Railways

PURSUANT to the Government Railways Act 1949, the New Zealand Railways Commission hereby makes the following alterations to the General Scale of Charges made on the 26th day of March 1952, and published in the Supplement dated the 9th day of April 1952 to the New Zealand Gazette of the 3rd day of April 1952, in force on the New Zealand Government Railways.

GENERAL SCALE OF CHARGES

The following alterations to the General Scale of Charges shall come into force on 18 September 1955.

PASSENGERS

LOCAL FARES AND REGULATIONS

32. Suburban Fares

Paragraph 1:
Omit from the first sentence the words “Christchurch, Linwood”.

Paragraph 1, subparagraph (c):
Omit this subparagraph.

Suburban Six-trip Bearer Tickets.—9. Add to list of stations between which suburban six-trip bearer tickets will be issued:

Christchurch  { Stations Linwood to Lyttelton inclusive.
              { Stations Addington to Burnham inclusive.
              { Stations Riccarton to Rangiora inclusive.

35. South Island Main Line and Branches

Insert new paragraph 3A:
3A. The following local fares will be charged on the Christchurch–Lyttelton, Christchurch–Burnham, and Christchurch–Rangiora lines:

First-class tickets will be issued for travel between Christchurch and Lyttelton at the following fare:

Return tickets will be charged double the single fare and will be issued at attended stations only. Trip bearer tickets will be subject to the provisions of regulation 4 and single and return tickets to the provisions of paragraphs 2, 3, and 4 of regulation 32.
