MANUKAU COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Pakuranga Water Supply Extension Loan 1955, £8,000
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Manukau
County Council hereby resolves as follows:
‘‘That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £8,000 authorized to be raised by the
Manukau County Council under the above-mentioned Act for
the purpose of acquiring one-half share in the Howick Borough
Council’s assets in headworks and reservoirs, and meeting
one-half share of the cost of auxiliary bores, pumps, and
works incidental thereto, the said Manukau County Council
hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-sixteenths of
a penny (³⁄₁₆d.) in the pound (£) on the rateable capital value
of all rateable property in the Pakuranga Water Supply
Extension Loan 1936. Special Rating Area in the said County
being the Special Rating Area more particularly defined in
the N.Z. Gazette of the 29th day of April 1937, page 1083,
and that such special rates shall be an annual-recurring rate
during the currency of such loan and payable yearly on the
1st day of September in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of 10 years, or until
the loan is fully paid off.’’
I, Neil MacDougall, Chairman of the Manukau County
Council, hereby certify that the above resolution was duly
passed at a meeting of the Manukau County Council held on
the 8th day of August 1955.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Takanini-Tironui Water Supply Special Loan 1955, £7,500
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Manukau
County Council hereby resolves as follows:
‘‘That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £7,500 authorized to be raised by the
Manukau County Council under the above-mentioned Act and
section 6 of the Local Legislation Act 1954 for the purpose
of refunding to the County Fund Account the cost of the
purchase of certain waterworks in the Takanini-Tironui area
of the Manurewa Borough Council, the said Manukau County
Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-eighth
of a penny (¹⁄₈d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable capital
value of all rateable property of the Takanini-Tironui Water
Supply Special Rating Area more particularly described in
the Schedule hereto; and that such special rate shall be an
annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and
payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every
year during the currency of such loan, being a period of
twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
SCHEDULE
ALL that area in the Manukau County, situated in Blocks
XIV and XV, Otahuhu Survey District, bounded by a line
commencing at a point on the left bank of the Papakura
Stream at right angles to and 500 links distant, easterly from
the eastern side of Morris Road and running south-easterly
generally along right lines parallel to the aforesaid eastern side
and the eastern side of Valley Road to the north-western
boundary of Lot 4, D.P. 27863, being part of Allotment 27,
Parish of Papakura; thence easterly generally along the
aforesaid north-western boundary; to and along the north-
western boundary of the part of Allotment 27 of the aforesaid
Parish comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume
473, folio 203, Auckland Land Registry, and along the south-
western boundary of Lot 3, D.P. 19473, being part of Allot-
ment 28, to the northern corner of Lot 14, D.P. 10914, being
another part of the aforesaid Allotment 27; thence along a
right line crossing Lots 3 and 4, D.P. 19473, and parts of
Lots 5 and 6 on Deeds Plan 492, to and along the north-
western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 39530, the aforesaid Lots
all being parts of Allotment 28 of the aforesaid Parish;
and along a right line being the aforesaid north-western
boundary produced across Mill Road and extending to a point
in Lot 3, D.P. 20982, being part of Allotment 29 of Papakura
Parish, at right angles to and 500 links distant from the
north-eastern side of Mill Road aforesaid, thence southerly
generally along right lines parallel to and 500 links distant
from the aforesaid north-eastern side and the north-eastern
side of Cosgraves Road, and passing through the aforesaid
Lot 3, crossing the Clevedon–Takanini Road, passing through
Lot 1, D.P. 12262, and Lot 1, D.P. 21397, crossing Hamlin’s
Main Highway, and passing through Lots 4, 3, and 1, D.P.
12691, the aforesaid Lots being parts of Allotments 29, 30,
and 43A of the aforesaid Parish, to the northern boundary of
the Borough of Papakura, then westerly generally along the
northern boundary of the aforesaid Borough, as described
in N.Z. Gazette No. 19 of the 17th day of March 1938,
page 470, to the line of mean high-water spring tide on the
northern shore of the Pahurehure Inlet of the Manukau
Harbour; thence northerly and north-easterly generally,
along the aforesaid line of mean high-water spring tide and
the left bank of the Papakura Stream to the point of com-
mencement.’’

passed at a meeting of the Manukau County Council held
on the 8th day of August 1955.
