Declaring Land Acquired for a Government Work and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land

Pursuant to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928,
the Minister of Works hereby declares the land described
in the Schedule hereto to be deemed to have been Crown land
subject to the Land Act 1948 as from the 6th day of July
1954.

Remission of Stamp Duty and Registration Fees Payable by Cook Islands Co-operative Societies

Pursuant to regulation 54 of the Cook Islands Co-
operative Societies Regulations 1953,* the Minister of
Island Territories hereby remits--

(a) The stamp duty with which, under any law for the
time being in force, any instrument executed by
or on behalf of any co-operative society registered
under the Cook Islands Co-operative Societies Regulations 1953 or by an officer or member of any such
society, and relating to the business of the society,
is chargeable; and

(b) Any fee payable under any law for the time being in
force for the registration of any of the instruments specified in paragraph (a) hereof.

Special Order Declaring That Sections 121 and 131 of the Counties Act 1920 Shall Not Apply to the Taupo County Council

Pursuant to section 2 of the Counties Amendment Act
1931, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby publishes
the following special order made by the Taupo County Commissioner.

SPECIAL ORDER

The Council of the County of Taupo acting in pursuance of
the powers conferred upon it by the Counties Act 1920 and
its amendments, and all other powers and authorities it in any
way enabling, and acting through the Taupo County Commissioner pursuant to the powers contained in the Taupo
County Act 1954, hereby resolves, by way of special order,
that sections 121 and 131 of the Counties Act 1920 shall not
apply to the Taupo County Council.

I certify, in accordance with section 2 (2) of the Counties
Amendment Act 1931, that the above special order was duly
made by me as Taupo County Commissioner.
