Gazette No. 40, of 22 June 1950, at page 799; thence proceeding south-westerly generally along the summit of the Port Hills to the north-eastern boundary of Reserve 3901, situated in Block III, Halswell Survey District; thence north-westerly generally along that boundary, to and across the Summit Road and along the north-eastern boundary of part Rural Section 37133 (formerly closed road) and its production to the north-eastern side of Worsleys Road; again north-westerly along the north-eastern side of Worsleys Road, the north-eastern boundary of another part Rural Section 37133, to and generally along the eastern side of Worsleys Road to the middle of Cashmere Stream, being the boundary of the City of Christchurch as hereinbefore described; thence easterly and southerly generally along the boundary of the City of Christchurch aforesaid to the boundary of the Borough of Lyttelton; thence south-westerly generally along the boundary of the Borough of Lyttelton to the point of commencement.

BOUNDARIES OF CASHMERE RIDING OF COUNTY OF HEATHCOTE

All that area in the County of Heathcote, Canterbury Land District, bounded by a line commencing at the north-eastern corner of Rural Section 2135, situated in Block XV, Christchurch Survey District, being a point on the boundary of the County of Heathcote, as hereinbefore described; thence southerly generally along the western side of Dry Bush Road and Summit Road to the summit of the Port Hills, being a point on the boundary of the County of Heathcote aforesaid; thence south-westerly, north-westerly, and easterly generally along the boundary of the County of Heathcote aforesaid to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Rural Section 2115; thence to and along that boundary and the northern boundary of Rural Section 2135 to the point of commencement.

BOUNDARIES OF COUNTY OF HALSWELL

All that area in the Canterbury Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point at the junction of the middle of Halswell Road and Hendersons Road on the boundary of the City of Christchurch as hereinbefore described; thence north-easterly and south-easterly generally along the boundary of the City of Christchurch aforesaid to a point on the eastern side of Worsleys Road in the middle of Cashmere Stream; thence south-easterly generally along the boundary of the County of Heathcote, as hereinbefore described, to the summit of the Port Hills; thence southerly generally along the summit of the Port Hills to the eastern boundary of Rural Section 1093, Block XI, Halswell Survey District, being on the boundary of Wairawa County as described in N.Z. Statutes No. 8, 1912, page 307; thence south-westerly generally along the

eastern boundaries of Rural Sections 1093 and 1863 and the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of Rural Section 1901 to a point in line with the middle of Ahuriri Bush South; thence again south-westerly generally along the middle of that road and the Ahuriri and Little River Road to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of former Rural Section 1069; thence to and along that boundary (through Rural Section 37634) and its production to the middle of the Halswell River; thence north-westerly, easterly, and northerly generally along the middle of that river, to and along the north-western boundary of Rural Section 952 and its production to the middle of Halswell Junction Road; thence south-easterly along the middle of that road to Middle Lincoln Road; thence north-easterly generally along the middle of Middle Lincoln Road to a point in line with the south-west boundary of Rural Section 146, being on the boundary of the City of Christchurch as hereinbefore described; thence southerly generally along that boundary to the point of commencement.

BOUNDARIES OF NUMBER 1 RIDING OF COUNTY OF HALSWELL

All that area in the County of Halswell, Canterbury Land District, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the boundary of the County of Halswell, as hereinbefore described, at the junction of Halswell Road and Hendersons Road; thence south-easterly along Hendersons Road to a point in line with the southern boundary of Reserve 2468; thence north-easterly to and along that boundary (through Lot 2, D.P. 11167, Lot 1, D.P. 10929, and part Lot 26, D.P. 3217L), to Cashmere Road; thence south-westerly generally along that road and Paterson Avenue to the north-eastern corner of Rural Section 1350 and along the western boundary of Rural Section 24216 (Closed Road) and its production across Lower Lincoln Road to the middle of the Halswell River, being a point on the boundary of the County of Halswell aforesaid; thence north-westerly, north-easterly, and southerly generally along that boundary to the point of commencement.

BOUNDARIES OF NUMBER 2 RIDING OF COUNTY OF HALSWELL

All that area in the County of Halswell, Canterbury Land District, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the boundary of the County of Halswell, as hereinbefore described, at the junction of Halswell Road and Hendersons Road, Block XIV, Christchurch Survey District; thence north-easterly, south-easterly, and southerly generally along the boundary of the County of Halswell aforesaid to the north-eastern corner of Rural Section 34551, situated in Block VII, Halswell Survey District; thence westerly along the northern boundaries of parts Rural Section 34551 and the crossing of the Summit Road, across a closed road (Proclamation, New Zealand Gazette, 1913, page 1849), and again westerly and southerly along the northern and western boundaries of Rural Section 34552 and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the southern side of Rural Section 17739X (Closed Road); thence westerly generally along the southern boundary of that Rural Section to a point in line with the western boundary of Rural Section 13588, situated in Block VI, Halswell Survey District; thence southerly to and along the western boundary of that Rural Section to Rhodes Road; thence westerly along that road and its production to the middle of the Halswell River, being the boundary of the County of Halswell aforesaid; thence northerly generally along that boundary and north-easterly and north-westerly generally along the boundary of the Number 1 Riding as hereinbefore described to the point of commencement.

Termination of Appointment in the Royal New Zealand Navy

PURSUANT to section 7 of the Naval Defence Act 1913, His Excellency the Governor-General has accepted the resignation of Senior Commissioned Gunner John G. W. Draper from the Active List of the Royal New Zealand Navy. He will be placed on the Retired List of Officers of the Royal New Zealand Navy to date 9 July 1955.
