Declaring Land Acquired for a Government Work and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land
PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be deemed to have been Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948 as from the 7th day of December 1954.

Notice Under the National Savings Act 1940, Section 5
PURSUANT to section 5 of the National Savings Act 1940, the Minister of Finance hereby authorizes the Trustees of the undermentioned savings banks (being savings banks constituted under the Trustee Savings Banks Act 1948) to receive investments by way of deposit in investment accounts under the National Savings Act 1940 during the investment period expiring on 30 June 1956:
Auckland Savings Bank,
New Plymouth Savings Bank,
Dunedin Savings Bank, and
Invercargill Savings Bank

Notice Under the National Savings Act 1940, Section 4
PURSUANT to section 4 of the National Savings Act 1940, the Minister of Finance hereby prescribes that the sixteenth investment period shall run from 30 June 1955 to 30 June 1956.
The rate of interest to be paid on investments in an investment account during such investment period shall be 3 per cent.
Moneys invested during such investment period by deposit in an investment account shall be repayable on the 30th day of June 1958.
Provided that where interest is not withdrawn in terms of section 8 (2) of the said Act and is added to the principal moneys of the investor, such amount of interest, together with interest thereon, shall be repayable on the 30th day of June 1956.
National Savings Bonds issued during such investment period shall be repayable five years after the date of issue thereof.
The rate of interest to be paid on National Savings Bonds purchased during such investment period shall be 3½ per cent.

Applying Board of Trade (Gas) Regulations 1924 to Certain Companies
PURSUANT to clause 27 of the Board of Trade (Gas) Regulations 1924,* the Minister of Industries and Commerce hereby removes from the Schedule to the said regulations the name of the Timaru Gas, Coal and Coke Company Limited, and adds to the said Schedule the name of the following company:
The Timaru City Council.

Releasing Land from the Provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Tuparoa Development Scheme)
PURSUANT to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that on the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette the land described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 12 September 1931 and published in the Gazette, 17 September 1931, Volume III, page 2822.

PURSUANT to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that on the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette the land described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 13 January 1932 and published in the Gazette, 21 January 1932, Volume I, page 115.
