WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

The Wellington City Sewerage Loan 1954, of £350,000

THE following resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Wellington City Council held on the 11th day of May 1955:

“‘In pursuance and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and its amendments, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves as follows:

“‘That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, repayment of principal, and other charges on a loan of three hundred and fifty thousand pounds (£350,000) to be known as the Wellington City Sewerage Loan 1954, of £350,000, authorized to be raised by the Wellington City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of carrying out sewerage works in the City of Wellington, the Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of two hundred and eight eight-hundredths of a penny (208/800d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the whole of the City of Wellington; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’’’

THE CAVITYCRETE BLOCKS COMPANY LIMITED

MEETING OF CREDITORS

NOTICE is hereby given that a meeting of the Cavitycrete Blocks Company Limited will be held on Wednesday, the 25th day of May 1955, at which a resolution for voluntary winding-up is to be proposed, and that a meeting of the creditors of the said company will be held, pursuant to section 234 of the Companies Act 1933, at Epworth Chambers Board Room, 176 Hereford Street, Christchurch, on Thursday, the 26th day of May 1955, at 11.30 o’clock in the forenoon, at which meeting a full statement of the position of the company’s affairs together with a list of the creditors and the estimated amount of their claims will be laid before the meeting, and at which meeting the creditors, in pursuance of section 235 of the said Act, may nominate a person to be the liquidator of the company and, in pursuance of section 236 of the said Act, may appoint a committee of inspection.

WAIUKU BOROUGH COUNCIL

SPECIAL RATE FOR SECURITY

Fire Engine Loan 1955, £3,000

COPY of Resolution No. 100 passed by the Waiuku Borough Council on the 9th day of May 1955:

“‘That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Waiuku Borough Council, acting in its capacity as Urban Fire Authority for the Waiuku (Secondary) Urban Fire District, hereby resolves as follows:

“‘That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £3,000 authorized to be raised by the Waiuku Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchasing a fire engine, the said Waiuku Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal nought seven three five pence (0·0735d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Waiuku; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen (15) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’’’

I hereby certify that the above extract is a true copy of Resolution No. 100 passed by the Waiuku Borough Council at the ordinary monthly meeting held on the 9th day of May 1955 and recorded in the Council’s minute book.

HAMILTON CITY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928.

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Hamilton City Council proposes to execute a certain public work, to wit, the erection of a reservoir, for which purpose the lands described in the Schedule hereto require to be taken by the Hamilton City Council under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, sections 22 and 23.

A plan of the lands proposed to be taken as aforesaid is open for inspection at the office of the Hamilton City Council, Alma Street, Hamilton.

All persons affected are hereby called upon to set forth in writing any well-founded objections to the execution of such works or to the taking of such lands, and to send such writing to the Hamilton City Council within forty days from the date of the first publication of this notice.

  1. 14·7 perches, being part of Allotment 365, Kirikiriroa Parish; coloured blue.

  2. 17·7 perches, being part of Allotment 366, Kirikiriroa Parish; coloured yellow.

  3. 1 acre 1 rood 3·6 perches, being Part of Allotment 183, Kirikiriroa Parish; coloured yellow.

  4. 27·4 perches, being Part of Lot 5 on Deposited Plan 12521, and being part of Allotment 126, Kirikiriroa Parish; coloured blue.

All shown on Survey Office Plan 36922 and thereon coloured as aforesaid, and all situated in Block XIV, Komakorau Survey District, County of Waikato, Land Registration District of Auckland, Land District of South Auckland.

HUNTERVILLE TOWN COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

I HEREBY certify that the following resolutions were passed at the meeting of the Hunterville Town Council held on 13 April 1955:

“‘In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Hunterville Town Council hereby resolves that for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £2,500 authorized to be raised by the Hunterville Town Council under the above-named Act for the erection of a worker’s dwelling, the said Hunterville Town Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 3d. (threepence) in the pound upon the rateable annual value of all rateable property in the Town District of Hunterville; and such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of May and the 1st day of November in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-eight years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

“‘That the special rate of 3d. in the pound on the annual value of the Hunterville Town District made and levied by the Hunterville Town Council on the 13th day of April 1955 be and is hereby appropriated and pledged to the Housing Loan 1954, and that the Chairman and Treasurer be and are hereby appointed to countersign the debentures issued to cover the loan.’’’
