Notice to Mariners No. 29 of 1955
NEW ZEALAND—SOUTH ISLAND—OTAGO HARBOUR
Alteration to Position of Leading Light Beacons
POSITION: (a) Front leading beacon (45° 43′ S., 170° 43′ 06″ E. approx., on chart N.Z. 51).
The following changes will be effective from 24 May 1955:
(1) The rear leading beacon (Occ. 5 sec.) is to be moved to a position 199° 40′, distant 2,220 feet from the front leading beacon (a) above.
(2) The leading line is to be moved so that the bearing is 199° 40′ and the inscription amended to read “Lights in line 199° 40′.”
(3) The eastern limit beacon (Fl. G. 3 sec.) is to be moved to a position 202° 20′, distant 2,200 feet from the front leading beacon (a) above.
(4) On Chart N.Z. 51 the pecked line indicating the eastern limit of the channel is to be moved so that the bearing is 202° 20′.
(5) The least depth when the leading beacons are in transit is 34 feet M.L.W.S.
(6) The entrance channel has a minimum depth of 30 feet M.L.W.S. over a width of 350 feet to the eastward and 1,050 feet to the westward of the leading line in (2) above.
(7) The pecked line referred to in (4) above indicates the 30-foot contour on the eastern edge of the entrance channel.

Notice to Make Returns of Income Under the Land and Income Tax Act 1954
PURSUANT to the Land and Income Tax Act 1954, the Commissioner of Inland Revenue, hereby gives notice as follows:
- Returns of income for the year ended 31 March 1955 are required from—
(a) All companies, all persons in business (including farming), and all trustees, executors, and administrators, irrespective of whether a profit or a loss has been made; and
(b) All other persons who derived during the year any income from salary, wages, interest, rent, annuity, dividend, or other sources, where the total income so derived exceeded £375.
- Returns are required to be delivered or forwarded to the district office of the Taxes Division, Inland Revenue Department, where the taxpayer’s records are filed—
(a) Not later than 7 July 1955 where the returns are for a year ended with any day falling in the period 1 October 1954 to 7 May 1955 inclusive; and
(b) Within two months after the balance date where the returns are for a year ending with any day falling in the period 8 May to 30 September 1955 inclusive.

All return forms are available at all district offices of the Taxes Division, Inland Revenue Department; and all forms other than those for companies are available at all post offices.

Any person or company failing to furnish a return within the prescribed time is liable to a fine not exceeding £100 and not less than £2.

Classification of Road in Eyre County
PURSUANT to subclause (10) of regulation 3 of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1950 (as substituted by regulation 4 (1) of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1950, Amendment No. 8) the Commissioner of Transport hereby revokes that portion of the Warrant dated the 5th day of December 1950* in so far as it applies to the classification in Class Three of the portions of roads described in the Schedule hereto and situated in Eyre County, and hereby approves the Eyre County Council’s proposed variation in the classification of the said roads as set out in the Schedule hereto.

Classification of State Highway
PURSUANT to subclause (10) of regulation 3 of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1950 (as substituted by regulation 4 (1) of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1950, Amendment No. 8) the Commissioner of Transport hereby revokes that portion of the Warrant dated the 29th day of June 1950* in so far as it applies to the classification in Class Three of the State Highway described in the Schedule hereto, and following an application by the National Roads Board hereby declares that the classification of the said highway shall be varied as set out in the Schedule hereto.
