AGRICULTURAL ADVISORY LABORATORY INCORPORATED

Canterbury District
In the matter of the Companies Act 1933, and in the matter of the Agricultural Advisory Laboratory Incorporated, a duly incorporated society having its registered office at 37 Picton Avenue, Christchurch.
NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-up of the above-mentioned company by the Supreme Court was on the 7th day of April 1955 presented to the said Court by JOHN STANLEY, of Christchurch, Journalist, and that the said petition is directed to be heard before the Court sitting at Christchurch on the 18th day of May 1955, at 10 o’clock in the forenoon; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to support or oppose the making of an order on the said petition may appear at the time of hearing in person or by his counsel for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same by the undersigned on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

The petition herein was filed by Hugh Wallace Thompson, Solicitor, for the Petitioner, whose address for service is at the offices of Messrs Barrer and Thompson, 176 Hereford Street, Christchurch C.1.
Any person who intends to appear on the hearing of the said petition must serve on, or send by post to the above-named, notice in writing of his intention so to do. The notice must state the name, address, and description of the person, or, if a firm, the name, address, and description of the firm, and an address for service within three miles of the office of the Supreme Court at Christchurch, and must be signed by the person or firm, or his or their solicitor (if any), and must be served or, if posted, must be sent by post in sufficient time to reach the above-named petitioner’s address for service not later than four o’clock in the afternoon of the 17th day of May 1955.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION
NOTICE is hereby given that a general meeting of shareholders of the above company will be held at the offices of Claude W. Evans and Co., Public Accountants, T. and G. Building, Hereford Street, Christchurch, on Friday, the 27th day of May 1955, at 4.30 p.m., for the purpose of laying before it the liquidator’s account of the winding-up showing how the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company has been disposed of, and of hearing from the liquidator any explanations thereof.

BAY OF ISLANDS COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
EXTRACT from the minutes of proceedings of the Bay of Islands County Council at a meeting of such Council held on the 20th day of April 1955.
Moved by Councillor B. A. Gorrie:
“In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Bay of Islands County Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of five thousand pounds (£5,000) authorized to be raised by the Bay of Islands County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of sealing sections of the Springbank-Kerikeri and Kaitaia-Maungatapere Main Highways, the Bay of Islands County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven thirty-seconds of one penny (7/32d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the whole of the County of the Bay of Islands; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of five (5) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
Seconded by Councillor J. R. Brook and carried.
The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of the Bay of Islands was hereunto affixed at the office of and pursuant to a resolution of the Bay of Islands County Council in the presence of—

HUTT VALLEY ELECTRIC POWER BOARD
RESOLUTION LEVYING SPECIAL RATE
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £17,000 authorized to be raised by the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board under the above Act for the purpose of purchasing land and erecting three workers’ dwellings and a garage at Porirua, and purchasing or erecting a worker’s dwelling and erecting a garage and store at Upper Hutt, the said Hutt Valley Electric Power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fiftieth of a penny (1/50d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Hutt Valley Electric Power District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 31st day of March in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
The above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Board held on the 21st day of April 1955.

OHAKUNE BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Tohunga Road Reticulation Loan 1954, £2,000
NOTICE is hereby given that in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Ohakune Borough Council resolved as follows, at a meeting held on 21 April 1955:
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of two thousand pounds (£2,000) authorized to be raised by the Ohakune Borough Council under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and amendments for the purpose of extending the Council’s electrical undertaking to supply electric power to those consumers within its supply area situate on Tohunga Road, the said Ohakune Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of two decimal three one pence (2·31d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Ohakune; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
The Wellington City Johnsonville Water Supply Loan 1954, of £105,000
THE following resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Wellington City Council held on the 2nd day of May 1955:
“In pursuance and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and its amendments, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, repayment of principal, and other charges on a loan of one hundred and five thousand pounds (£105,000) to be known as the Wellington City Johnsonville Water Supply Loan 1954, of £105,000, authorized to be raised by the Wellington City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing a water supply for Johnsonville and adjoining areas, the Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of sixty-two eight-hundredths of a penny (62/800d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the whole of the City of Wellington; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
