A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section 29 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1948, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim as closed the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road closed: 3 roods 5 perches.

Adjoining Lot 1, D.P. 41336, and Lot 3, D.P. 31548, being parts Allotment 23, Opahoke Parish.

Situated in Block IV, Drury Survey District, Auckland R.D. (S.O. 38581.)

In the North Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 146249 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 20th day of April 1955.

Crown Land Set Apart as Permanent State Forest Land

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section 18 of the Forests Act 1949, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby set apart the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto as permanent State forest land.

SCHEDULE

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT—AUCKLAND CONSERVANCY

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, Whangaroa County, containing by admeasurement 1,660 acres, more or less, and being Allotment 26, Whakapaku Parish, situated in Blocks II and VI, Whangaroa Survey District, and Block VII, Mangonui Survey District. As shown on plan No. 3/9 deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. (S.O. Plan 38353.)

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 15th day of April 1955.

Provisional State Forest Land Set Apart as Permanent State Forest Land

PURSUANT to section 18 of the Forests Act 1949, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby set apart the provisional State forest land described in the Schedule hereto as permanent State forest land.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT—AUCKLAND CONSERVANCY

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, Bay of Islands County, containing by admeasurement 1,084 acres and 16 perches, more or less, being Sections 6 and 10, and part of Section 7, Block VIII, Kawakawa Survey District (provisional State forest, Gazette 1924, page 801). As shown on plan No. 6/14, deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. (S.O. Plans 18050, 18052, 20939, and 27331.)

Revoking a Sanctuary and Declaring Land, Levels County, South Canterbury Acclimatization District, to be a Wildlife Refuge

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section 14 of the Wildlife Act 1953, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby

  1. Revoke the warrant made under section 6 of the Animals Protection and Game Act 1921-22, and published in Gazette, 21 February 1929, Vol. I, pages 449-450.

  2. Proclaim and declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a Wildlife Refuge for the purposes of the Wildlife Act 1953.

SCHEDULE

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, Levels County, situated in Blocks IX, X, and XI, Arowhenua Survey District, containing by estimation 333 acres, more or less, being part Reserve 2393, part Lot 2, D.P. 15376 (part Rural Section 8330), part Lot 1A, D.P. 658 (part Rural Section 7458), Lot 24, D.P. 578 (parts Rural Sections 2149 and 2212) and bounded as follows:

Commencing at a point on the north-western side of the main coastal drain in line with the south-western side of Meadows Settlement Road (Brownes Road) in Block IX, Arowhenua Survey District; thence south-westerly along the north-western side of the said drain to its intersection with the south-western boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 15376; thence continuing south-westerly along a right line in the direction of the northern abutment of the Railway Bridge over Washdyke Creek to the eastern boundary of the railway land (South Island Main Trunk Railway); thence south-easterly generally along the eastern boundary of the railway land, aforesaid, and the crossing of Washdyke Creek to a point 1250 links south-east of the north-western corner of Lot 27, D.P. 578; thence continuing south-easterly by right lines bearing 90° 32', 167·5 links; 137° 06', 1402 links; 117° 50', 995·8 links; 143° 36', 952·2 links; 157° 25', 109·6 links, and a right line to the south-western corner of Reserve 911; thence north-easterly generally along the north-western boundary of that Reserve and the mean high-water mark of the sea to a point in line with the south-western side of Meadows Settlement Road (Brownes Road); thence north-westerly along a right line to the point of commencement, as more particularly delineated on plan marked I.A. 52/7 deposited in the Head Office, Department of Internal Affairs, Wellington, and thereon edged red.

THE RIGHT HON. K. J. HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets apart the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori reservation for the purpose of a meeting place and burial ground for the common use of the members of the Hauauru tribes of the Waikato district.
