OTAGO CENTRAL ELECTRIC POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Electrical Generation and Extensions Loan 1952, £165,000 (Fourth Portion, £45,000)

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Otago Central Electric Power Board hereby resolves as follows:

‘‘That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of forty-five thousand pounds (£45,000), being the fourth portion of a loan of one hundred and sixty-five thousand pounds (£165,000) authorized to be raised by the Otago Central Electric Power Board under the above-mentioned Act for—

‘‘(a) Generating and transmitting electric power from the Fraser River;

‘‘(b) Completing the original proposal for the reticulation of the Wakatipu portion of the Board’s supply district;

‘‘(c) Supply of plant material and equipment, and the erection of extensions and strengthening of lines and apparatus for the transmission of electric power throughout the district of supply;

‘‘(d) The erection of additional workshop and store accommodation and plant for the manufacture of concrete poles;

the said Otago Central Electric Power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of two-elevenths of one penny (²/₁₁d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Otago Central Electric Power District; which special rate is hereby permanently appropriated and pledged as security for repayment of the said special loan and interest thereon.’’

BAY OF ISLANDS COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

EXTRACT from the minutes of proceedings of the Bay of Islands County Council at a meeting of such Council held on the 9th day of February 1955.

Moved by Councillor B. A. Gorrie:

‘‘In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Bay of Islands County Council hereby resolves as follows:

‘‘That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of three thousand five hundred pounds (£3,500), authorized to be raised by the Bay of Islands County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of erecting a workers’ dwelling, the Bay of Islands County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three sixty-fourths of one penny (³/₆₄d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the whole of the County of Bay of Islands; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’’

Seconded by Councillor A. R. Graham, and carried.

The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of the Bay of Islands was hereunto affixed at the office of and pursuant to a resolution of the Bay of Islands County Council in the presence of:

NOTICE OF CEASING TO HAVE A PLACE OF BUSINESS IN NEW ZEALAND

PURSUANT to section 338 of the Companies Act 1933, William Heale Proprietary Limited, a company incorporated in Victoria, Australia, hereby gives notice that it intends to cease to have a place of business in New Zealand after the expiration of three months from the first publication of this notice in the New Zealand Gazette.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

EXTRACT from the minutes of proceedings of the Bay of Islands County Council at a meeting of such Council held on the 9th day of February 1955.

Moved by Councillor B. A. Gorrie:

‘‘In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Bay of Islands County Council hereby resolves as follows:

‘‘That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of twelve thousand five hundred pounds (£12,500), authorized to be raised by the Bay of Islands County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchasing plant, the Bay of Islands County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven-sixteenths of one penny (⁷/₁₆d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the whole of the County of Bay of Islands; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of seven (7) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’’

Seconded by Councillor A. R. Graham, and carried.
