MAKARA COUNTY COUNCIL

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Makara County Council at its meeting held on the 11th day of February 1955, has resolved to prepare for the County of Makara a district scheme by sections as required by the Town and Country Planning Act 1953.

The sectional schemes will be for the following areas which have been approved by the Minister of Works under section 20 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953:

Area No. 1 (Titahi Bay - Porirua).
Area No. 2 (Porirua).
Area No. 4 (Owhariu-Newlands).
Area No. 5 (Owhariu Bay - South Makara).

The sectional scheme for Area No. 3 (Tawa Flat - Petone) was provisionally approved by the Town Planning Board and is being proceeded with under section 19 (2) of the Act. Every person and every local authority in the district is hereby invited to submit any proposals which, in his or her opinion, should be considered in the preparation of the proposed sectional schemes.

Proposals marked “Makara County District Scheme Area No. ” should be addressed to the County Clerk and delivered at the County Clerk’s office, 57 Ballance Street, Wellington, on or before the 2nd day of May 1955.

EASTBOURNE BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Hutt Estuary Bridge Loan 1955, £18,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Eastbourne Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of eighteen thousand pounds (£18,000) authorized to be raised by the Eastbourne Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of paying the Council’s share of the construction of the Hutt Estuary Bridge, the said Eastbourne Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three farthings in the pound on the rateable value (being the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Eastbourne; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring special rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

Passed at a special meeting of the Council held on the 24th day of February 1955.

NOTICE OF REDUCTION OF CAPITAL

In the matter of the Companies Act 1933, and in the matter of R. Birch and Co. Ltd.

NOTICE is hereby given that an order of the Supreme Court of New Zealand dated the 4th day of February 1955 confirming the reduction of the capital of the above-named company from £4,000 to £1,000 and the minute approved by the Court showing with respect to the capital of the company as altered the several particulars required by the above-mentioned Act was registered by the Registrar of Companies on the 18th day of February 1955. The said minute is in the words and figures following:

“The capital of the company is £1,000, divided into 4,000 shares of 5s. each. At the date of registration of this minute all the said shares of 5s. each are and are deemed to be fully paid.”

WAITEMATA COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Workers’ Dwelling Loan 1952, £20,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Waitemata County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £20,000, authorized to be raised by the Waitemata County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of erection of workers’ dwellings, the said Waitemata County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of thirty-seven thousandths (0·037) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable capital value of all rateable property within the County of Waitemata; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed by the Waitemata County Council at a special meeting of the said Council held on the 16th day of December 1954, which said resolution was gazetted in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 1, on the 13th day of January 1955, at page 28, but in which Gazette the words “thirty-seven one-hundredths” of a penny appeared in error. This notification confirms that the said words should read and did read in the resolution “thirty-seven one-thousandths.”
