At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 1st day of March 1955
Present:
THE RIGHT HON. K. J. HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 18 of the Fire Services Act 1949, the Town Commissioner of the Borough of Kawerau requested that the Borough of Kawerau be constituted an urban fire district:
And whereas, pursuant to the said section 18, the Fire Service Council has certified that the appropriate standards for an urban fire district have been complied with:
And whereas, pursuant to the said section 18, the request has been referred to the Local Government Commission:
And whereas, pursuant to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, the Local Government Commission has recommended that action be taken under the Fire Services Act 1949 to constitute the said Borough an urban fire district:
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 18 of the Fire Services Act 1949, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares the Borough of Kawerau an urban fire district by the name of the Kawerau Urban Fire District.

PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets apart the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori reservation for the purpose of a Church site for the common use of the Maori members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

PURSUANT to section 104 (3) of the Rating Act 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby varies an Order in Council made on 17 June 1929 and published in the Gazette of 20 June 1929, Vol. II, at page 1716, exempting the Paeroa 1c 2b Block from payment of rates by excluding therefrom the land described in the Schedule hereto.

PURSUANT to section 27 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1948, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby amends the Order in Council dated 15 May 1946 and published in the Gazette of 23 May 1946, Vol. II, page 698, and deposited in the Land Registry Office at Dunedin as No. 5487, exempting the north-western side of portion of Kaikorai Valley Road, in the City of Dunedin, from the provisions of section 128 of the Public Works Act 1928, subject to a condition as to the building line, by cancelling the condition as to the building line imposed by the said Order in Council.

PURSUANT to section 6 of the Housing Amendment Act 1940, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and declares that the access ways described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, vest in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Auckland and be under the control and management of the Auckland City Council.
