ELECTION OF REGISTRATION BOARD 1955-56

I HEREBY give notice that I have received the following valid nominations for election to the Music Teachers' Registration Board of New Zealand:

Nancy Martin.
Stanley Oliver.
Harold Temple White.

Canterbury District
Leonard Charles Barnes.

Otago District
Mary Annie Martin.
Clement Roy Spackman.

As the number of nominations does not exceed the number of vacancies in the Auckland, Canterbury, and Otago Districts, I hereby declare the said Henry George Cook, Patrick Towsey, Leonard Charles Barnes, Mary Annie Martin, and Clement Roy Spackman elected to represent their respective districts.

In a ballot held in the Wellington District pursuant to the regulations, Conduct of Elections 1930, the candidates respectively received the numbers of votes set opposite their names hereunder:

WHAKATANE COUNTY COUNCIL

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Whakatane County Council, at its meeting held on the 23rd day of November 1954, has resolved to prepare the Whakatane County District Scheme (Kawerau Section)-for description of area see New Zeuand Gazette No. 37 of 17 June 1954, page 1010, and plan of the Kawerau Section which is on deposit at the County Office, Whakatane-a district scheme as required by the provisions of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953.

Every person and every local authority in the district is hereby invited to submit any proposals which in his or its opinion should be considered in the preparation of the proposed scheme.

Proposals marked 'Whakatane County Kawerau District Scheme' should be addressed to the County Clerk, and delivered at the County Clerk's Office on or before the 18th day of February 1955.

CANTERBURY AGRICULTURAL COLLEGE, LINCOLN

ANNUAL ELECTION OF TWO MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS

HEREBY give public notice of the result of the annual election set down for Monday, the 6th day of December 1954, to fill the two vacancies on the Board of Governors of Canterbury Agricultural College.

One member to be elected by such of the Members of the House of Representatives as for the time being represent electoral districts wholly or partly within the Provincial District of Canterbury.

I hereby declare William Henry Gillespie, being the only nomination received, to be duly elected to the Board of Governors to hold office for a period of three years commencing on the 1st day of January 1955.

One member to be elected by the graduates of the University of New Zealand whose names are on the books of the College and the holders of Diplomas granted by the College..

I hereby declare Thomas Drummond James Holderness, being the only nomination received, to be duly elected to the Board of Governors to hold office for a period of three years commencing on the 1st day of January 1955.

WAIUKU TOWN BOARD

HOUSING LOAN 1954, £3,300

Copy of Resolution No. 909 passed by the Waiuku Town Board at a special meeting held on the 6th day of December 1954.

  1. Special Rate for Security
    RESOLVED that in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Waiuku Town Board hereby resolves as follows:

"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £3,300, authorized to be raised by the Waiuku Town Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of erecting a worker's dwelling, the said Waiuku Town Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal nought five seven six pence (0·0576d.) in the pound upon the rateable value, on the basis of the capital value, of all rateable property of the Town District of Waiuku; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty (30) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.'

I hereby certify that the above extract is a true copy of Resolution No. 909 passed by the Waiuku Town Board at a special meeting held on the 6th day of December 1954, and recorded at Folio 114 in the Board's minute book.

The Chairman of the Board, Mr S. Bonnar, was unavoidably absent having been admitted urgently to hospital shortly before commencement of the meeting.

WAIUKU TOWN BOARD

BORE REPLACEMENT LOAN 1954, £700

Copy of Resolution No. 912 passed by the Waiuku Town Board at a special meeting held on the 6th day of December 1954.

  1. Special Rate for Security
    RESOLVED that in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Waiuku Town Board hereby resolves as follows:

"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £700, authorized to be raised by the Waiuku Town Board under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of replacing a water bore that has collapsed, the said Waiuku Town Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal nought one six pence (0·016d.) in the pound upon the rateable value, on the basis of the capital value, of all rateable property of the Town District of Waiuku; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen (15) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.'

WATER RETICULATION IMPROVEMENT LOAN 1954, £11,000

Copy of Resolution No. 914 passed by the Waiuku Town Board at a special meeting held on the 6th day of December 1954.

  1. Special Rate for Security
    RESOLVED that in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Waiuku Town Board hereby resolves as follows:

"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £11,000, authorized to be raised by the Waiuku Town Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of improving the water supply to the Town of Waiuku, including sinking new bore, and installing suitable pump and 4 in. mains, the said Waiuku Town Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal two five two pence (0.252d.) in the pound upon the rateable value, on the basis of the capital value, of all rateable property of the Town District of Waiuku; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen (15) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.'
