Classification of Roads in Stratford Borough
PURSUANT to subclause (6) of regulation 3 of the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations 1950 (as substituted by regulation 4 (1) of the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations 1950, Amendment No. 8), the Commissioner of Transport with the concurrence of the Stratford Borough Council hereby alters the said Council’s proposed classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto and situated in Stratford Borough, and hereby approves such altered classification as described in the said Schedule.

STATE HIGHWAY
New Plymouth–Hawera State Highway No. 10 (all that portion within Stratford Borough).
BOROUGH ROADS
Celia, Cloton, Opunake, Esk (from Ohura Road to the saleyards), Fenton (from Juliet Street to Miranda Street), Juliet (from Pembroke Road to Cloton Road), Miranda (from Pembroke Road to Miranda Street), Pembroke (from Broadway to the western borough boundary), Regan (from Miranda Street to Esk Road), Seyton (from Miranda Street to Juliet Street), Swansea (from Regan Street to Warwick Road).
Roads Classified in Class Three
All other roads under the control of the Stratford Borough Council.

Classification of Roads in Pukekohe Borough
PURSUANT to subclause (6) of regulation 3 of the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations 1950 (as substituted by regulation 4 (1) of the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations 1950, Amendment No. 8), the Commissioner of Transport hereby approves the Pukekohe Borough Council’s proposed classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto and situated in Pukekohe Borough.

Notice to Mariners No. 88 of 1954
INFORMATION REGARDING RADIO BEACONS
Previous Notice No. 47/1954
INTERMITTENT transmissions for testing purposes are now being made from the following radio beacons:
Dog Island, Taiaroa Head, Godley Head, The Brothers, and Portland Island.
The co-operation of masters of ships is requested by having observations made of these beacons whenever possible, and report as to their efficiency or otherwise to the Secretary, Marine Department, P.O. Box 2395, Wellington. Testing period will be for about one month.

NEW ZEALAND—NORTH ISLAND—NAPIER HARBOUR
Establishment of New Fairway Leading Beacons
Position: Stone Pillar Trig. Station (39° 28·75′ S., 176° 55·25′ E., approx.).
Details: Both beacons are diamond in shape, painted red, and show a fixed red light.
The front beacon 54 ft. above high water is 007° 505 ft. from the above position.
The rear beacon 96 ft. above high water is 032° 207 ft. from the above position.
Beacons in transit 172°.
The beacons in transit 171° are to be expunged.

Radio Telephone Station Established
MARINERS are advised that a new radio telephone station has been established at Whangarei Harbour Board office and on the pilot launch.
Details—
Call Sign: Office, ZLKW.
Pilot Launch, ZM2077.
Calling frequency: 2182 kc/s.
Working frequency: 2162 kc/s. and 2012 kc/s.
Listening watches at the Harbour Board office are 0900 hrs. to 1200 hrs., and 1300 hrs. to 1700 hrs. Monday to Friday inclusive and at other times by arrangement.
In the New Zealand Nautical Almanac and Tide Tables 1954, page 78, and 1955, page 80, insert ‘‘ZLKW and ZM2077 calling 2181 working 2012–2162’’.

1130–1145 hours.
1530–1545 hours.
Additional broadcasts will be advised during the above times when circumstances warrant them.
