District Reconstituted Under the Marriage Act 1908

A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to the Marriage Act 1908, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby abolish the existing marriage districts known as the Hyde and Middlemarch Districts, and proclaim and declare that the territory heretofore comprised within the said districts is hereby reconstituted one marriage district, the name and boundaries whereof shall be as follows; and I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on the 1st day of December 1954.
MIDDLEMARCH DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Otago Land District bounded by a line commencing at the confluence of Horse Burn with the Taieri River, being a point on the boundary of the Maniototo County as described in the First Schedule of the Counties Act 1876; thence proceeding north-easterly along that county boundary to the left bank of the Waihemo (Shag) River; thence down the left bank of that river to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Block VI, Waihemo Survey District; thence to and along that boundary and the south-western boundaries of Blocks III and IV, Dunback Survey District, to Trig. Station K; thence south-westerly and westerly generally along the north-western boundaries of Blocks IV and VII and the northern and north-western boundaries of Block VIII, Dunback Survey District, to the northern branch of the Waikouaiti River; thence north-westerly along the said northern branch to the northern boundary of Budle Survey District; thence westerly along that boundary to the western boundary of Run No. 121G; thence south-westerly generally along the last-mentioned boundary to and along the middle of Nenthorn Creek to the production of the northern boundary of Section 23, Block VI, Budle Survey District; thence westerly to and along the northern boundaries of the said Section 23 and Sections 22, 18, and 19, Block VI aforesaid, to the eastern boundary of Block VII, Strath Taieri Survey District; thence southerly along that boundary and the eastern boundary of Block XI, Strath Taieri Survey District, to Trig. Station A; thence south-easterly along a right line to Trig. Station D (Hummock) in Block V, Hummock Survey District, and a right line in the direction of Silver Peak on the southern boundary of Block V, Silver Peak Survey District, to a point due east of the source of Ross Creek in Section 3, Block IX, Hummock Survey District; thence due west to the said source and westerly generally down the middle of Ross Creek and Sidey Creek to and up the middle of the Taieri River, Sutton Stream, Burgan Creek, and Stony Creek to its source; thence due west to the summit of the leading spur between Soutra Hill and Lammerlaw Range; thence north-easterly generally along the summit of the said spur to Soutra Hill, a right line to Rock and Pillar Mountain, a right line to the northernmost corner of Run No. 213A, and along the generally eastern boundaries of Runs numbered 248, 204A, and 204 to the north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned run; thence along the summit of the leading ridge to the Taieri River opposite the confluence of Kye Burn; thence down the middle of the Taieri River to its confluence with Horse Burn, being the point of commencement.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 13th day of November 1954.

Crown Land Set Apart as Permanent State Forest Land

A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to section 18 of the Forests Act 1949, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby set apart the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto as permanent State forest land.
SCHEDULE
SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT—AUCKLAND CONSERVANCY
All that area in the South Auckland Land District, Taupo County, containing 375 acres, more or less, and being Section 1, Block XVI, Ranginui Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 45/25 deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. (S.O. Plan 36494.)
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 17th day of November 1954.
