Alterations to the Scales of Charges Upon the New Zealand Government Railways
PURSUANT to the Government Railways Act 1949, the New Zealand Railways Commission hereby makes the following alterations to the General Scale of Charges made on the 26th day of March 1952 and published in the Supplement dated the 9th day of April 1952 to the New Zealand Gazette of the 3rd day of April 1952, and to the Local Rates Scale of Charges made on the 4th day of May 1954 and published in the Supplement dated the 12th day of May 1954 to the New Zealand Gazette of the 6th day of May 1954, in force on the New Zealand Government Railways.
GENERAL SCALE OF CHARGES
PASSENGERS
1. General
Paragraph 6, subparagraph (a): Omit this subparagraph, and substitute the following:
(a) Tickets may be obtained on the day or in advance of the day the passenger desires to travel, at any railway-station where there is an officer in charge or at duly authorized booking-agencies.
20. Tourist Excursion Tickets
Paragraph 2, subparagraph (a):
Omit from this subparagraph the words “and City Booking Office at Courtenay Place, Wellington.”
Paragraph 3: Omit the final sentence of this paragraph, and substitute the following:
Persons desiring an extension of time must apply to any officered station or to the officer in charge, Queenstown, before the expiration of the original ticket.
21. School Season Tickets
Paragraphs 1 and 3:
Omit all reference to first class.
23. Technical-school Season Tickets
Paragraph 2:
Omit all reference to first class.
24. Reserved Seats
Paragraph 4: Omit the first sentence from this paragraph, and substitute the following:
Seats may be reserved at any station where there is an officer in charge, or at duly authorized booking agencies.
25. Sleeping-berths
Paragraph 6: Omit the first sentence from this paragraph, and substitute the following:
Sleeping berths may be reserved at any station where there is an officer in charge or at duly authorized booking agencies.
33. Suburban Weekly Tickets
Paragraph 4:
Omit this paragraph.
