Sale of Unclaimed Property
IT is hereby notified that unclaimed property in the hands of the police at Auckland, Hamilton, Gisborne, Palmerston North, Wellington, Nelson, Christchurch, Timaru, and Invercargill stations will, if not claimed before Saturday, 6 February 1954, be sold thereafter by public auction.
Particulars as to the time and place of sale may be obtained from the Superintendent or Inspector of Police in charge of the District.

Radiotelephone Station Established
M ARINERS are advised that a new radiotelephone station has been established in the signal station on Mount Victoria, Auckland.
Details—
Call sign, ZLEA.
Calling frequency, 2182 kc/s.
Answering frequency, 2012 kc/s.
Working frequency (ship), 2012 or 2162 kc/s.
Working frequency (station), 2012 kc/s.
Listening watches are kept on 2182 kc/s at 0100-0110, 0500-0510, 0900-0910, 1300-1310, 1700-1710, 2100-2110, and at other times by arrangement.
Only calls for information on harbour conditions, berthing or safety of navigation will be accepted. Messages to or from shipping companies or their agents are not permitted.
Emergency: Where an exceptional incident or condition arises which may affect the safety of a ship, Mount Victoria will call the ship concerned on 2182 kc/s. Once contact has been established, normal working frequencies will be used. Emergency transmissions on 2182 kc/s are under the overall control of Auckland Radio (ZLD).

Price Order No. 1522 (Cocoa)
PURSUANT to the Control of Prices Act 1947, the Price Tribunal hereby makes the following Price Order:
- This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 1522, and shall come into force on the 29th day of January 1954.
- (1) Price Order No. 1507* is hereby revoked.
(2) The revocation of the said Order shall not affect the liability of any person for any offence in relation thereto committed before the coming into force of this Order.
APPLICATION OF THIS ORDER
- This Order applies with respect to all cocoa, except ‘‘Van Houten’s’’ sold in New Zealand.
FIXING MAXIMUM PRICES OF COCOA TO WHICH THIS ORDER APPLIES
Wholesalers' Prices
- (1) Subject to the following provisions of this clause, the maximum price that may be charged or received by any wholesaler (which term in this order shall be deemed to include a manufacturer selling to a retailer) for any cocoa to which this Order applies shall be the appropriate price set out in the Schedule hereto.
(2) The prices fixed by the foregoing provisions of this clause are fixed subject to the continuance of the practice in the cocoa trade with respect to cash and other discounts and with respect to freight arrangements existing immediately prior to the coming into force of this Order.
Retailers' Prices
- (1) Subject to the following provisions of this clause, the maximum price that may be charged or received by any retailer for any cocoa to which this Order applies shall be the appropriate price set out in the Schedule hereto.
(2) If in respect of any lot of cocoa sold by a retailer the maximum price calculated in accordance with the foregoing provisions of this clause is not an exact number of pence or halfpence, the maximum price of the lot shall be calculated to the next upward halfpenny.
GENERAL
- Notwithstanding the provisions of this Order, the maximum price that may be charged by any wholesaler or by any retailer for cocoa to which this Order applies, bought by the wholesaler or by the retailer before the date of coming into force of this Order and unsold by him at that date, shall not exceed the appropriate price authorized pursuant to the Control of Prices Act 1947, to be charged immediately before that date. In the case of cocoa to which this Order applies bought by a wholesaler or by a retailer after the coming into force of this Order at the appropriate price authorized pursuant to the Control of Prices Act 1947, to be charged immediately before that date, such cocoa shall not be resold at prices in excess of those so authorized prior to the coming into force of this Order.
PROVISION FOR SPECIAL PRICES
- Notwithstanding anything in the foregoing provisions of this Order, and subject to such conditions, if any, as it thinks fit, the Tribunal, on application by any wholesaler or retailer, may authorize special maximum wholesale or retail prices in respect of any cocoa to which this Order applies where special circumstances exist, or for any reason extraordinary charges (freight or otherwise) are incurred by the wholesaler or retailer. Any authority given by the Tribunal under this clause may apply with respect to a specified lot or consignment of cocoa or may relate generally to all cocoa to which this Order applies sold by the wholesaler or retailer while the approval remains in force.
