KNOW all men by these presents (which are intended to be enrolled in the Registry of the Supreme Court of New Zealand at Whangarei) that I, the undersigned Michael George Chester, of Kaitaia, in the Dominion of New Zealand, Herd Tester, and now or lately and till the present time called Michael George Bourke, do hereby absolutely renounce and abandon the use of my said name Michael George Bourke, and in lieu thereof adopt the name of Michael George Chester, and for the purpose of evidencing such change of name I hereby declare that I shall at all times hereafter in all actions, suits, and proceedings, as well as in all dealings and transactions, matters and things whatsoever, and upon all occasions, use and subscribe the said name of Michael George Chester as my name in lieu of the said name of Michael George Bourke, abandoned as aforesaid; and I therefore hereby expressly authorize and require all persons whomsoever at all times to designate, describe, and address me by such adopted name of Michael George Chester.

In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my adopted and substituted name of Michael George Chester this 1st day of October 1954.

MANIOTOTO COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Housing Loan 1954, £14,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Government Loans Board Act 1926, the Maniototo County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on the loan of fourteen thousand pounds (£14,000), authorized to be raised by the Maniototo County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of erecting four workers dwellings and purchasing land for the said purpose, the said Maniototo County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0·07d. in the pound upon the rateable value (being the capital value) of all rateable property in the Maniototo County; and such rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan to be payable yearly on the 15th day of August in each year and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

Passed at a meeting of the Council held on the 29th day of October 1954.

MANIOTOTO COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Bridge Loan 1954, £7,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Government Loans Board Act 1926, the Maniototo County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on the loan of seven thousand pounds (£7,000), authorized to be raised by the Maniototo County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of construction of bridges in the County, the said Maniototo County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0·035d. in the pound on the rateable value (being the capital value) of all rateable property in the Maniototo County; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan to be payable yearly on the 15th day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

Passed at a meeting of the Council held on the 29th day of October 1954.

In the matter of the Religious, Charitable, and Educational Trusts Act 1908 and its amendments, and in the matter of a certain trust created by Frederick Potter, late of Auckland, Retired Merchant (deceased).

SCHEME FOR DISPOSITION OF TRUST PROPERTY

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that a scheme for disposition of the property subject to the above trust has been filed in the office of the Supreme Court at Whangarei for its approval under Part III of the above-mentioned Act. The application for such approval will be heard at the Supreme Court House, Auckland, on Friday, the 10th day of December 1954, at 10 o’clock in the forenoon, or so soon thereafter as counsel can be heard.

The said scheme is open to inspection by the public at the office of the said Court at Whangarei without fee or charge.

NOTICE is hereby given that “Riverhead Carrying Co. Limited” has changed its name to “Yelavich Bros. Limited”, and that the new name was this day entered on my Register of Companies in place of the former name.

Notice of Meeting of Creditors

TAKE notice that a meeting of creditors of the above-named company is being held in the Victory Meeting Room, Regent Theatre, Victoria Street, Hamilton, at 10.30 a.m. on Thursday next, 11 November 1954.

Difficulty has been experienced in realizing sufficient from the assets to pay ordinary creditors as well as the debenture holder (the Bank of New Zealand), and this meeting is called to discuss the matter and inform creditors of the company’s position.

THAMES VALLEY ELECTRIC POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Reticulation and Building Loan 1954, £112,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and amendments thereto, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Thames Valley Electric Power Board hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of principal, interest, and other charges on the Reticulation and Building Loan 1954 of £112,000, authorized to be raised by the Board under the above-mentioned Act and amendments thereto, for the purpose of providing extensions and improvements to the Thames Valley Electric Power District and erecting buildings, the said Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-twelfth (1/12th) of a penny in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property of the whole of the Thames Valley Electric Power District, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of a resolution passed by the Thames Valley Electric Power Board at a meeting held on the 2nd day of November 1954.
