Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

Pursuant to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the persons hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:

A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the persons described in Column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorize them to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of their employment for the employers described in Column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorize them while they are under the age of eighteen years to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Approval of Red Reflectors for Heavy Motor Vehicles, Being Goods Service Vehicles in Terms of the Traffic Regulations 1936

Pursuant to clause 22, regulation 7, of the Traffic Regulations 1936, the Minister of Transport hereby approves, for the purposes of the said regulation, red reflectors of the makes and types described in the Schedule hereto and samples of which are deposited at the Head Office of the Transport Department, Wellington.

Declaring Trailer Units Forming Part of Multi-axled Motor Vehicles to be Trailers

Pursuant to subsection (1) of section 2 of the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby determines that the vehicles specified in the Schedule hereto, forming part of multi-axled vehicles as defined by section 2 of the said Act, shall be deemed to be trailers.

Releasing Land from the Provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Mangonui Development Scheme)

Pursuant to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that on the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette the land described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 24 August 1938 and published in the Gazette on 25 August 1938, at page 1917.

Pursuant to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that on the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette the land described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 30 January 1939 and published in the Gazette on 2 February 1939, at page 141.
