Pharmacy Industry
A. McL. Young, 20 Vincent Street, Howick, has applied for a licence to operate a new pharmacy at Picton Street, Howick.
Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor Spirit
G. Vining, 130A Rangitikei Street, Palmerston North, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from two pumps to be installed on proposed service-station and garage premises on the Rangitikei Line just inside the Palmerston North City Boundary.
A. R. Page Ltd., 11 Stansell Avenue, Tahunui, Nelson, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump to be installed on proposed service-station and garage premises at corner of Milton and Grove Streets, Nelson.
W. L. M. Van Berkum, Te Kaha, via Opotiki, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump to be installed on service-station and garage premises at Te Kaha, via Opotiki.
W. S. Aitken, 34 Grafton Road, Auckland, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump to be installed on garage premises at 34 Grafton Road, Auckland.
Cambridge Machinery Exchange Ltd., Pope Terrace, Leamington, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump to be installed on garage premises at Pope Terrace, Leamington.
I. Smith, Dipton, Southland, has applied for permission to change the retail selling point of one pump from its present site to a new position 1½ miles distant on proposed store premises in Dipton, Southland.
Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should, not later than 2 September 1954, submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender. All communications should be addressed to Secretary, Bureau of Industry, C.P.O. Box 2492, Wellington.

Fixing the Rates of Levy on Wool Produced in New Zealand
Pursuant to section 12 (2) of the Wool Industry Act 1944, the New Zealand Wool Board hereby fixes the rates of the levy to be charged in accordance with the provisions of the said Act on wool as defined in that Act for the season commencing the 1st day of October 1954, as follows:
(a) For each bale, 2s. 6d.
(b) For each fadge, 1s. 3d.
(c) For each bag or sack, 5d.
