Alterations to the Scales of Charges Upon the New Zealand Government Railways

Pursuant to the Government Railways Act 1949, the New Zealand Railways Commission hereby makes the following alterations to the General Scale of Charges made on the 26th day of March 1952, and published in the Supplement dated the 9th day of April 1952 to the New Zealand Gazette of the 3rd day of April 1952, and to the Local Rates Scale of Charges made on the 11th day of February 1952, and published in the Supplement dated the 18th day of February 1952 to the New Zealand Gazette of the 14th day of February 1952, in force on the New Zealand Government Railways, and hereby declares that such alterations shall come into force on the 17th day of January 1954.

GENERAL SCALE OF CHARGES

PASSENGERS

  1. Weekly Twelve-trip Tickets

Omit this heading, and substitute:

  1. Weekly Ten-trip Tickets

Paragraph 1: Omit the words "twelve-trip tickets", and substitute the words "ten-trip tickets".

  1. Family Season Tickets

Omit this regulation.

  1. Season Tickets for Young People Not Exceeding 21 Years of Age

Paragraph 2: Omit this paragraph, and substitute:

  1. Season tickets issued under the provisions of this regulation will not be available for use on Saturdays or Sundays.

LOCAL FARES AND REGULATIONS

  1. Suburban Weekly Twelve-trip Tickets

Omit this heading, and substitute:

  1. Suburban Weekly Ten-trip Tickets

Paragraphs 1, 2, 4, and 7:

Omit the words "Weekly Twelve-trip tickets" wherever they appear, and substitute the words "Weekly Ten-trip tickets".

Paragraph 5: Omit this paragraph, and substitute the following:

  1. Suburban weekly ten-trip tickets will expire on Saturday of the week for which they are issued in each case, and will be available for five outward and five homeward trips per week. They will not be available for use on express trains.

  2. North Island Main Line and Branches

Paragraph 2: Omit the last clause, and substitute:

Workers' weekly tickets issued at the local fares mentioned in this paragraph are subject to the conditions as provided for in regulation 33. They will not be available for use on express trains.
