Approval of Flashing Front Red Lights for Fire Brigade Vehicles and Ambulances

PURSUANT to clause (6) of regulation 10 of the Traffic Regulations 1936,* the Minister of Transport hereby approves for use in terms of the said regulations—

(1) Of two simultaneously flashing red lights at the front of and shining directly ahead of a vehicle while used by a fire brigade for responding to a call of fire; and

(2) Of one flashing red light near the centre of the front of and shining directly ahead of an ambulance while used on urgent ambulance service.

Revocation of Appointment of Certain Garage Proprietors for Issue of Warrants of Fitness

PURSUANT to regulation 11 of the Traffic Regulations 1936, the Minister of Transport hereby revokes the approval of the firm described in the Schedule hereto for the purpose of the issue of warrants of fitness for motor vehicles.

Notice of Intention to Take Land in Blocks VII and XI, Takahue Survey District for the Settlement of Maori Ex-servicemen

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for the settlement of Maori ex-servicemen. And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land required to be taken is deposited in the post office at Kaitaia and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

Paraparaumu Aerodrome

In the matter of the Public Works Amendment Act 1935, and in the matter of the Paraparaumu Aerodrome in the Wellington Land District.

THE Minister of Works, pursuant to section 4 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1935, hereby gives notice that, for the purpose of making the Paraparaumu Aerodrome safe for aviation purposes, he prohibits the erection, placing, or extension, without his consent, of any building, pole, mast, or other structure of any kind, and the growing of trees or shrubs of any kind on the land described in the Schedule hereto beyond the level of the ground at an iron tube placed at a reduced level of 81·4 ft., and marked “I.T. (Initial of levels) R.L. 81·4 ft.” on the plan marked P.W.D. 133326, hereinafter referred to, increased in height by one-thirtieth part of the distance measured on a horizontal plane between the said iron tube and that portion of the land upon which any building, pole, mast, or other structure is proposed to be erected, placed, or constructed, or upon which any tree or shrub is proposed to be grown or is allowed to grow.

Sale of Unclaimed Property

IT is hereby notified that unclaimed property in the hands of the Police at Whangarei, Auckland, Hamilton, Gisborne, Napier, New Plymouth, Wanganui, Palmerston North, Wellington, Nelson, Greymouth, Christchurch, Timaru, Dunedin, and Invercargill Stations will, if not claimed before Saturday, 14 August 1954, be sold thereafter by public auction.

Particulars as to the time and place of sale may be obtained from the Superintendent or Inspector of Police in charge of the District.
