Appointments, Promotions, Transfers, Resignations, and Retirements of Officers of the New Zealand Army

PURSUANT to section 16 of the New Zealand Army Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Army:

1ST INFANTRY BRIGADE

Captain (temp. Major) E. D. Burton, The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own), relinquishes the appointment of D.A.A. and Q.M.G., H.Q., 1st Infantry Brigade, and ceases to be seconded. Dated 30 June 1954.

4TH ARMOURED BRIGADE

2nd Lieutenant B. H. Martin, 1st Armoured Car Regiment (New Zealand Scottish), R.N.Z.A.C., is appointed I.O., H.Q., 4th Armoured Brigade, and is seconded. Dated 7 July 1954.

THE ROYAL N.Z. ARTILLERY

Territorial Force

2nd Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A.

2nd Lieutenant (temp. Lieutenant) J. B. Glasgow to be Lieutenant. Dated 1 April 1954.

The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on prob.) D. M. Mayne is confirmed.

The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on prob.) J. D. H. Smith is confirmed.

5th Light Regiment, R.N.Z.A.

2nd Lieutenant A. D. Scrymgeour, from the 14th Composite Anti-Aircraft Regiment, R.N.Z.A., to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority from 6 December 1952. Dated 1 May 1954.

6th Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment, R.N.Z.A.

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) C. W. Gower is posted to the Retired List with the rank of Captain. Dated 2 July 1954.

14th Composite Anti-Aircraft Regiment, R.N.Z.A.

Captain W. E. Anderson is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, 14th Composite Anti-Aircraft Regiment, R.N.Z.A., with the rank of Captain, with seniority from 2 January 1950. Dated 29 June 1954.

2nd Lieutenant A. D. Scrymgeour is transferred to the 5th Light Regiment, R.N.Z.A. Dated 1 May 1954.
