CORRIGENDUM

IN the New Zealand Gazette No. 42, dated 8 July 1954, page 1121, under the heading “Notice to Persons Affected by Applications for Licences Under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act 1936”, notice was given of an application having been made by R. J. Johnston, Tiverton Street, Palmerston North, for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump to be installed on service-station and garage premises at Tiverton Street, Palmerston North.

This notice is hereby cancelled, and the following substituted therefor:

“R. J. Johnston, Tiverton Street, Palmerston, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump to be installed on service-station and garage premises at Tiverton Street, Palmerston.”

Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application should not later than 19 August 1954 submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender. All communications should be addressed to Secretary, Bureau of Industry, C.P.O. Box 2492, Wellington.

Prison Proclaimed

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled the Prisons Act 1908, it is provided that the Governor-General may, by Proclamation published in the Gazette, declare any house, building, enclosure, or place to be a prison, and from and after the gazetting of any such Proclamation, or from any time later specified in the Proclamation, such house, building, enclosure, or place shall be deemed a prison:

Now, therefore, pursuant to section 4 of the said Prisons Act 1908, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby declare that the area of land described in the Schedule hereto, and all buildings and enclosures used or occupied thereon, shall, from and after the date of the publication of this Proclamation in the Gazette, be a prison, known as the Wi Tako Prison, within the meaning and for the purposes of the said Prisons Act 1908.


SCHEDULE

ALL that area of land in the Wellington Land District, Hutt County, containing 533 acres 2 roods 8·1 perches, more or less, being part Sections 100, 104, 105, 106, 108 and 206, Hutt District, situated in Block I, Rimutaka Survey District and being part of the land in certificate of title, Volume 57, folio 4 (S.O. Plans 17258 and 22625.).

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 29th day of July 1954.

Land Set Apart as Provisional State Forest Declared to be Subject to the Land Act 1948

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to subsection (2) of section 19 of the Forests Act 1949, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, acting on the joint recommendation of the Minister of Lands and of the Minister of Forests, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto, being portion of a provisional State forest reserve set apart by Proclamation dated the 7th day of October 1930, and gazetted on the 9th day of that month, is required for settlement purposes; and in accordance with the provisions of the said Act, such land shall, from and after the day of the gazetting hereof, cease to be provisional State forest land and shall become Crown land available for sale, lease, reservation, or other disposition under the provisions of the Land Act 1948.

WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT

PART Reserve 1620, situated in Block XI, Waimea Survey District: Area, 60 acres, more or less. (Shown as part Rural Section 3600.) As shown on the plan marked L. and S. 10/98/122, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 2nd day of August 1954.

Land, and an Easement Over Land, Taken for the Purposes of a Lighthouse in Block XIIA, Bay of Islands Survey District

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the First Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a lighthouse; and I also hereby proclaim and declare that an easement is taken for the purposes of a lighthouse over the land described in the Second Schedule hereto, vesting in Her Majesty the Queen full and free right, liberty, license, and authority in perpetuity to convey water along, under, or over the land described in the Second Schedule hereto, and for that purpose to lay, construct, place, reconstruct, cleanse, repair, and maintain a line of water pipes along, under, or over the land described in the Second Schedule hereto, and to construct, use, and maintain a pumphouse thereon, such easement to be held appurtenant to the land described in the First Schedule hereto; and I also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the 9th day of August 1954.
