Plimmerton-Paremata Water Reticulation Loan 1954, £76,000

IN pursuance of section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of Plimmerton-Paremata Special Rating Area No. 54, on a proposal to raise a special loan known as the Plimmerton-Paremata Water Reticulation Loan 1954, held on Saturday, 10 July 1954:

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 248.

The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 61.

The total number of valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal is more than three-fifths of the total number of valid votes recorded at the poll. I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Pile Beacon Replaced

NOTICE to Mariners No. 48 (Temporary) is hereby cancelled.

The pile beacon on the boulder bank in position 41° 15′ 45″ S., 173° 16′ 46″ E. (approx.) has now been replaced. The beacon shows a fixed white light.

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor Spirit

J. W. Quintel, Coroglen, Mercury Bay, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump installed on garage premises at Main Road, Whitianga, Coroglen.

Lawrence Motors Ltd., 228 Victoria Avenue, Wanganui, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump to be installed on garage premises at 228 Victoria Avenue, Wanganui.

F. J. Blackett, 515 High Street, Lower Hutt, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump to be installed on garage premises at 515 High Street, Lower Hutt.

The Cherrie Sawmilling Co., P.O. Box 283, Palmerston North, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump to be installed on sawmill at Mangahouhou Block, National Park.

J. F. Shannon, 68 Revell Street, Hokitika, has applied for permission to change the retail selling point of two pumps from 68 Revell Street, Hokitika, to a new site a quarter of a mile distant at a proposed service station at the corner of Weld and Fitzherbert Streets, Hokitika.

Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should, not later than 5 August 1954, submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender.
