PRIVATE BILL

In the matter of the Standing Orders of the House of
Representatives relating to Private Bills, and in the
matter of a Private Bill intituled 'An Act to
empower the Roman Catholic Archbishops and
Bishops in New Zealand to sell, exchange, mortgage,
and lease hereditaments vested in them, and to
exercise certain other powers, and to become regis-
tered as proprietors of other hereditaments now
registered in the names of predecessors and others.'

NOTICE is hereby given that the Roman Catholic Arch-
bishop of Wellington intends to present a petition to
the General Assembly of New Zealand for the passing of the
said Bill.

The objects of the said Bill are to extend to all the
Roman Catholic Archbishops and Bishops in New Zealand
uniform powers of selling, exchanging, mortgaging, and
leasing, and other subsidiary powers, in respect of lands
vested in them for the purpose of the Roman Catholic Church,
which powers are, by the Roman Catholic Bishop of Auckland
Empowering Act 1924, the Roman Catholic Bishop of Auck-
land Empowering Act 1929, and the Roman Catholic Bishop
of Dunedin Empowering Act 1940, already substantially con-
ferred upon the Roman Catholic Bishops of Auckland and
Dunedin, and to enable all the Roman Catholic Archbishops
and Bishops in New Zealand to become registered as pro-
prietors of lands now registered in the names of persons now
deceased, which, at the dates of the deaths of those persons,
were held by them in trust for a religious, charitable, educa-
tional, or other purpose of the Roman Catholic Church in
New Zealand, or of a body, society, or organisation associated
with or forming part of the said Church.

Printed copies of the Bill will be deposited in the Private
Bill Office, Parliament Buildings, Wellington, on the 8th day
of July 1954, and at the offices of Messrs Leicester, Rainey,
and McCarthy, Solicitors for the Roman Catholic Archbishop
of Wellington, 125 Featherston Street, Wellington.

Gisborne District

In the matter of the Companies Act 1933, and in the
matter of BETTA ICE CREAM COMPANY LIMITED

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-up
of the above-named company by the Supreme Court was
on the 30th day of June 1954 presented to the said Court by
Nolan J. C. Redstone Electrical Company Limited, a company
duly incorporated under the Companies Act 1933, having its
registered office at Grey Street, Gisborne, and carrying on
business as electrical contractors, and that the said petition
is directed to be heard before the Court sitting at Gisborne
on the 17th day of August 1954 at 10.30 o'clock in the
forenoon; and any creditor or contributory of the said
company desirous to support or oppose the making of an order
on the said petition may appear at the time of hearing in
person or by his counsel for that purpose; and a copy of the
petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of
the said company requiring the same by the undersigned on
payment of the regulated charge for the same.

THE PYRAMID COAL MINING COMPANY LIMITED

IN LIQUIDATION

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general
meeting of the above-named company, duly convened
and held on the 5th day of July 1954, the following special
resolution was duly passed:

'1. That the company be wound up voluntarily.
'2. That Mr J. K. PATTERSON, of Reefton, Solicitor, be
and is hereby appointed as liquidator of the company.
'3. That the remuneration of the liquidator shall be
assessed on the current scale of charges of the New Zealand
Law Society.'

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP

NOTICE is hereby given that the partnership heretofore
subsisting between LESLIE JACKSON, FREDERICK WILLIAM
COSGROVE, and RAYMOND LEONARD RALSTON, who carried on
business in premises at the corner of Young Street and Prince
Albert Road, St. Kilda, Dunedin, under the name of 'The
Premier Furniture Company', has been dissolved by mutual
consent as from the 31st day of March 1954, the said Raymond
Leonard Ralston retiring from the business. The business will
in future be carried on at the above address by Leslie
Jackson and Frederick William Cosgrove.

'That the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities,
continue its business and that it is advisable to wind up, and
that the company be wound up voluntarily and that Mr C. S.
DENT, Public Accountant, of Newmarket, be nominated
liquidator.'

Notice is also given that a meeting of creditors will be
held on Tuesday, 13 July 1954, at 2.30 p.m., in the New-
market Borough Council Chambers.
