PURSUANT to section 16 of the New Zealand Army Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Army:

THE ROYAL N.Z. ARTILLERY

Lieutenant H. B. Honor to be temp. Captain. Dated 22 April 1954.

Lieutenant H. P. T. Willis to be temp. Captain. Dated 23 January 1954.

3rd Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A.

2nd Lieutenant C. M. Hercus to be Lieutenant. Dated 1 April 1954.

4th Medium Regiment, R.N.Z.A.

2nd Lieutenant R. Kidd to be Lieutenant. Dated 1 April 1954.

2nd Lieutenant (temp. Lieutenant) R. M. Gallagher to be Lieutenant. Dated 1 April 1954.

6th Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment, R.N.Z.A.

Ernest Allan Lawry to be 2nd Lieutenant. Dated 3 May 1954.

11th Coast Regiment, R.N.Z.A.

Lieutenant-Colonel J. R. F. Sprosen, D.S.O., E.D., relinquishes the appointment of C.O., 11th Coast Regiment, R.N.Z.A., and is posted to the Retired List. Dated 31 March 1954.

13th Composite Anti-Aircraft Regiment, R.N.Z.A.

Captain I. G. Scott to be temp. Major. Dated 1 April 1954.

Captain J. Lendrum to be temp. Major. Dated 1 April 1954.

Captain R. A. Boyd to be temp. Major. Dated 1 April 1954.

Regular Force

Captain (temp. Major) N. R. Ingle, M.V.O., to be Major. Dated 25 January 1954.

Territorial Force

1st Divisional Signals Regiment, R.N.Z. Sigs.

Major J. D. Snow is posted to the Retired List. Dated 30 April 1954.

Captain R. A. Garters is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Corps of Signals, with the rank of Captain. Dated 3 May 1954.

Major (temp. Lieutenant-Colonel) W. M. Brown is granted a further extension of his short-service commission to 9 July 1955.

Bruce Charles James, late Flying Officer, Royal N.Z. Air Force, to be Lieutenant (on prob. for eighteen months) and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 26 April 1954.

The notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 21, dated 1 April 1954, relative to the appointment of Meredith Tocker, is hereby cancelled, and the following substituted:

‘‘Meredith Tocker, late Flight Lieutenant, R.N.Z.A.F., to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 22 October 1952. Dated 2 February 1954.’’
