Redefining Boundaries of the Borough of Riverton, the County of Wallace, and the Waimatuku Riding of the County of Wallace
PURSUANT to section 147 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1933, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby defines, as set out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the Borough of Riverton, the County of Wallace, and the Waimatuku Riding of the County of Wallace, the previous boundaries having been altered by Order in Council dated the 2nd day of September 1953, and published in New Zealand Gazette No. 50 of the 3rd day of September 1953.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE BOROUGH OF RIVERTON
ALL that area in the Southland Land District containing by estimation 989 acres, more or less, and bounded as follows: commencing at the junction of the eastern shore of the Jacobs River Estuary and the north-eastern side of Albany Street produced; thence south-easterly along the north-eastern side of the said Albany Street to the southernmost corner of Section 1, Block VI, Jacobs River Hundred; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern side of Havelock Street to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 71, Block XXV, Jacobs River Hundred; thence south-easterly to and along the south-western boundary of the said Section 71 to a point in line with the north-western boundaries of Sections 63, 58, 55, and 52, Block XXV aforesaid; thence south-westerly to and along the north-western boundaries of the aforesaid sections to the north-western corner of the said Section 52; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundaries of Sections 52 aforesaid and 51, Block XXV aforesaid, and the last-mentioned boundary produced to the coastline; thence south-westerly generally along the coastline to the southernmost corner of Section 38, Block XXV aforesaid; thence southerly along a right line to Talls Point, a point on the coastline opposite the easternmost corner of Section 30, Block II, Jacobs River Hundred; thence south-westerly and south-easterly generally along the coastline to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Section 3, Block II aforesaid; thence to and along the south-eastern boundary of the said Section 3 to the southernmost corner thereof; thence in a north-westerly direction generally by the south-western boundaries of the said Section 3 and Section 13, Block II aforesaid, to the south-eastern side of Richard Street; thence in a north-easterly direction by the said Richard Street to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 3, Block I, Jacobs River Hundred; thence to and along the south-western and north-western boundaries of the said Section 3 to the southernmost corner of Section 4, Block I aforesaid; thence in a north-westerly direction by the south-western boundary of the said Section 4 to the south-eastern boundary of Section 5, Block I aforesaid; thence in south-westerly and north-westerly directions by the south-eastern and south-western boundaries to the south-eastern boundary of Section 6, Block I aforesaid; thence again in south-westerly and north-westerly directions by the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of the aforesaid Section 6 to the south-eastern boundary of Section 7, Block I aforesaid; thence in south-westerly, north-westerly, and north-easterly directions by the south-eastern, south-western, and north-western boundaries of Section 7 aforesaid and the last-mentioned boundary produced to the shore of the Jacobs River Estuary; thence south-easterly by the shore of the Jacobs River Estuary to the centre-line of the Tuatapere Branch Railway; thence in a north-easterly direction by the centre-line of the aforesaid railway, across the Jacobs River Estuary to the eastern shore thereof; thence in a north-easterly direction generally by the aforesaid shore to the point of commencement.
BOUNDARIES OF THE COUNTY OF WALLACE
All that area in the Southland Land District bounded as follows: towards the north-east generally by Lake County as described in Gazette, 1953, page 2044, from Bligh Sound to Hummock Peak; towards the east generally by the Southland County as described in Gazette, 1953, page 1154, to the ocean; towards the south generally by the ocean; towards the west generally by the summit of the watershed from Sandhill Point to the Hump; thence by lines from peak to peak to the Billow Mountains; thence by the summit of the Billow Mountains, the Hunter Mountains, the Kepler Mountains, and the Murchison Mountains over Mount Lyall to Barrier Peaks; thence by a right line to the nearest arm of George Sound; and thence by the ocean to the point of commencement, save and excepting therefrom the Borough of Riverton and the Town Districts of Otatau and Nightcaps.
BOUNDARIES OF THE WAIMATUKU RIDING OF THE COUNTY OF WALLACE
All that area in the Southland Land District being part of the Wallace County and bounded as follows: towards the north by the Fairfax–Calcium Road; towards the west generally by the Jacobs River and the Jacobs River Estuary to the ocean; towards the south by the ocean to the mouth of the Waimatuku Stream; towards the east generally by the Southland County as described in Gazette, 1953, page 1154, save and excepting therefrom that part of the Borough of Riverton within the above-described boundaries.

Results of Elections by Fire-insurance Companies to Fill Extraordinary Vacancies on the Fire Boards for the Dargaville, Hikurangi, and Whangarei Urban Fire Districts
PURSUANT to the provisions of the Fire Services Act 1949, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby gives notice of the following results of the elections held on 11 May 1954 by the insurance companies carrying on business in New Zealand to fill an extraordinary vacancy on each of the Fire Boards for the Dargaville, Hikurangi, and Whangarei Urban Fire Districts:

Scheme of Control of Mount Roskill Grammar School
PURSUANT to section 92 of the Education Act 1914, the Minister of Education hereby approves of Mount Roskill Grammar School being controlled in accordance with the Standard Scheme of Control for Secondary Schools published at page 3451 of Volume III of the New Zealand Gazette of the year 1928:
Provided that—
(a) The Standard Scheme shall be read as if clauses 7, 8, and 9 were revoked:
(b) Clause 11 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if the words “such election shall be held in the first week of the month of May in the year 1929” were omitted and the words “the first such election shall be held on a date to be fixed by the Auckland Grammar School Board and subsequent elections shall be held in the first week of the month of May in the year 1956” were substituted therefor:
(c) The Standard Scheme shall be read as if the heading and clause set out in the Schedule hereto were inserted after clause 13:
(d) Clause 16 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if the words “or Borough Council” were omitted, and the words “or the Old Pupils’ Association” were substituted therefor:
(e) Clause 19 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if every reference to the year 1929 were a reference to the year 1956:
(f) Clause 43 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if the words “The Secretary shall be insured under a fidelity bond for a sum of not less than five hundred pounds” were omitted.

HEADING AND CLAUSE TO BE INSERTED IN STANDARD SCHEME
“Appointment of Member by Old Pupils’ Association
“13A. The appointment of a member to represent the Old Pupils’ Association shall be made by resolution passed at a meeting of the Association held after the time the Board has decided to add a representative of the Association to the Board.”
