Termination of Appointment in Royal New Zealand Navy
HIS Excellency the Governor-General has, pursuant to section
7 of the Naval Defence Act 1913, accepted the resignation
of Lieutenant Leslie Graeme Armstrong from the active
list of the Royal New Zealand Navy. He is to be placed on
the retired list of officers of the Royal New Zealand Navy
to
date 4 June 1954.
Dated at Wellington, this 18th day of May 1954.

pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions,

1st INFANTRY BRIGADE
With reference to the notice published in the N.Z. Gazette
No. 69, dated 3 December 1953, relative to Captain F. C.
Preston, The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly's
Own), for 'Dated 3 November 1953', substitute 'Dated
22 June 1953'.
3rd INFANTRY BRIGADE
Brigadier E. A. McPhail, D.S.O., M.C., relinquishes the
appointment of Commander, 3rd Infantry Brigade, and is
transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, with the
rank of Brigadier. Dated 31 March 1954.
2nd Lieutenant R. P. Palmer, The Canterbury Regiment,
is appointed I.O., H.Q., 3rd Infantry Brigade, and is seconded.
Dated 14 May 1954.
