ELLERSLIE BOROUGH COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and the Physical Welfare and Recreation Act 1937.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Ellerslie Borough Council proposes to execute certain public works, namely, the acquisition of land and the provision thereon of a centre and for facilities for physical training, exercise, sport, and recreation of the inhabitants of the Borough of Ellerslie and social activities related thereto as are authorized by the said Act, secondly, mentioned above and for such purposes as aforesaid the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken; and notice is hereby given that a copy of the plan of the land required to be taken and described in the Schedule hereto has been deposited in the office of the Town Clerk, Council Chambers, Ramsgate Street, Ellerslie, and may be inspected during such hours as the office is open to the public.

All persons affected by or who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public works or the taking of the said land must state their objections in writing and send the same, within forty days of the first publication of this notice, to the Town Clerk, Council Chambers, Ellerslie S.E. 6.

SCHEDULE

ALL that piece of land situated in the Borough of Ellerslie containing seven acres three roods and thirty-nine decimal eight perches, more or less, being part of Lot 1, Deposited Plan No. 15284, which said piece of land is portion of Allotment 7 of Section 12 of the Suburbs of Auckland and is part of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 337, folio 259, of the register book at Auckland, as the same is more particularly shown coloured yellow on Survey Office Plan No. 38281.

BOROUGH OF MANUREWA

Town AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Manurewa Borough Council, at a meeting held on the 17th day of May 1954, has resolved to prepare for the Manurewa Borough a district scheme as required by the provisions of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953.

The scheme will deal with:

  1. The zoning or definition of areas to be used exclusively or principally for specified purposes or classes of purposes.

  2. The preservation of objects and places of historical interest or natural beauty.

  3. The designation of reserves and proposed reserves for national, civic, cultural, and community purposes, for afforestation and water catchment purposes, for recreation grounds, ornamental gardens, parks, and children’s playgrounds, and for open spaces.

  4. The designation of open spaces for purposes of value to the community on land not intended to be owned by the Council.

  5. Public access from place to place, car parks, transport terminals, aerodromes, and public transport systems, including their creation, establishment, closing, removal, alteration, and diversion; traffic routing; the co-ordination of street widths with land uses and population densities; off-street provision for vehicles while being loaded or unloaded or standing; the fixing of building lines in relation to highways.

  6. Sewerage, drainage, and sewage and rubbish disposal.

  7. Lighting and water supply.

  8. Buildings, with particular reference to—

(a) Their position on allotment and in relation to any highway and to other buildings;

(b) Their density, use, character, height, and harmony in design and external appearance;

(c) Verandas in commercial streets

(d) Open space about buildings;

(e) The fixing of building lines for amenity and other purposes.

  1. Provision and preservation of amenities, including regulation and control of outdoor advertising displays.

  2. Control of subdivision, including restraint upon unnecessary encroachment of urban development upon land of high actual or potential value for production of food.

  3. Land subdivisional standard in relation to any permitted use.

  4. Minimum site areas and dimensions in relation to uses of land and buildings.

  5. Ancillary or consequential works and all other matters involving the principles of town and country planning.

Every owner and occupier of property and every local authority in the district is hereby invited to submit in respect of above matters suggestions which, in his opinion, should be considered in the preparation of the proposed scheme.

Suggestions marked “Manurewa Borough District Scheme” should be addressed to the Town Clerk and delivered at the Town Clerk’s Office on or before the 6th day of August 1954.

IN LIQUIDATION

Notice of Winding-up Resolution

Pursuant to section 222 of the Companies Act 1933, notice is hereby given that the following extraordinary resolution was passed by the members of Times Printing Works Limited on the 20th day of May 1954:

‘‘1. That the company by reason of its liabilities cannot continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up; and that the company be wound up voluntarily.

‘‘2. That, in pursuance of section 235 of the Companies Act 1933, Mr D. F. Cotter, of Auckland, Public Accountant, be and he is hereby appointed liquidator of the company for the purposes of such creditors’ voluntary winding-up.’’

And that a meeting of the creditors of Times Printing Works Limited will be held pursuant to section 300 (7) of the Companies Act 1933 at the Chamber of Commerce Board Room, Courthouse Lane, on the 28th day of May 1954, at 2.30 o’clock in the afternoon, at which meeting a full statement of the position of the company’s affairs, together with a list of the creditors and the estimated amount of their claims, will be laid before the meeting, and at which the creditors, in pursuance of section 235 of the said Act, may nominate a person to be liquidator of the company, and in pursuance of section 236 of the said Act may appoint a committee of inspection.

AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act 1951, the Local Government Loans Board Act 1926, the Meat Act 1939, and any amendments thereto, and of all other powers thereunto enabling it, the Auckland City Council hereby resolves as follows:

‘‘That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £13,300 to be known as the Municipal Abattoir Extension Loan 1953, which amount is proposed to be raised by the Auckland City Council under the abovementioned Acts for the purpose of refunding to General Account moneys expended or to be expended on the completion of the new beef house at the Auckland Municipal Abattoir, and meeting the cost of raising the loan, the said Auckland City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one twenty-fourth of one penny (1/24th of 1d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property in the City of Auckland; and that the said special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of the said loan or until the loan is fully paid off.’’

The above is a certified copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the Auckland City Council held on the 13th day of May 1954.
