Deputy of the Governor-General Appointed

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to constitute and appoint

Major-General the Right Honourable Sir Harold Eric Barrowclough, K.C.M.G., C.B., D.S.O. and Bar, M.C., E.D.,

to be the Deputy of the Governor-General commencing at 10 a.m. on the 25th day of May 1954, and during the period of the temporary absence of the Governor-General from New Zealand.

Notification of Resignation of Seat in the House of Representatives for the Electoral District of Patea

IN compliance with the provisions of section 103 of the Electoral Act 1927, I, Matthew Henry Oram, Speaker of the House of Representatives, hereby notify that William Alfred Sheat has resigned his seat in the House of Representatives for the Electoral District of Patea, and that the said seat is vacant by reason of such resignation.

Appointment of Snow Loss Reserve Committee

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

Neil Alan Rowntree, of Christchurch, Public Servant,

to be the members of the Snow Loss Reserve Committee for the purposes of the Land and Income Tax Amendment Act (No. 2) 1953, and also to appoint the said Clarence Cyril Holland to be the Chairman of the said Committee.
