Scheme of Control of Kelston High School
PURSUANT to section 92 of the Education Act 1914, the Minister of Education approves of Kelston High School being controlled in accordance with the provisions of the Standard Scheme of Control for Secondary Schools published at page 3451 of Volume III of the New Zealand Gazette of the year 1928:
Provided that—
(a) The Standard Scheme shall be read as if clauses 7, 8, and 9 were revoked, and the clauses set out in the Schedule hereto were substituted therefor:
(b) Clause 11 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if the reference to the year 1929 were a reference to the year 1954:
(c) Clause 16 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if the words “Borough Council shall himself be a member of such body” were omitted and the following words substituted “by the local bodies referred to in clause 7 hereof shall himself be a member of that Board or of one of those local bodies”:
(d) Clause 19 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if every reference to the year 1929 were a reference to the year 1956:
(e) Clause 43 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if the words: “The Secretary shall be insured under a fidelity bond for a sum of not less than five hundred pounds” were omitted.
SCHEDULE
CLAUSES to be substituted for clauses 7, 8, and 9 of Standard Scheme:
“7. The Waitemata County Council, the New Lynn Borough Council, and the Glen Eden Borough Council shall each appoint a member to meet and elect the member to represent those bodies on the Board.
“8. The members appointed to elect the member as provided in clause 7 hereof shall meet in the month of May in the year 1954 and every alternate year thereafter.
“9. The Secretary of the Board shall convene the meeting of the members appointed under clause 7 hereof and advise the Board of the name of the member appointed to the Board.”

Amending Open Season for Game in the North Canterbury Acclimatization District
PURSUANT to the Wildlife Act 1953, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby amends the notice dated 16 February 1954 and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 13 of 25 February 1954 at page 300, as follows:
By adding to that part of the notice that relates to the North Canterbury Acclimatization District the following words:
“‘Closed Game Areas (previously known as Excepted Areas), as published in Supplement dated 27 February 1952 to New Zealand Gazette of 21 February 1952 at page 296, and amended by notice dated 11 February 1953 and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 10 of 26 February 1953 at page 260, and further amended by notice dated 16 February 1954 and published in New Zealand Gazette No. 13 of 25 February 1954 at page 300, further amended as follows:
“‘Add—
“‘(21) Glen Lake and Adjoining Land: All that area in the Canterbury Land District containing by admeasurement 34 acres, more or less, being Glen Lake; Lot 1 on Deposited Plan No. 4716 and part Lot 1 on Deposited Plan No. 9958 (parts Rural Sections 7538 and 36816); part Rural Section 36816; and part Section 5, Glenmark Settlement, situated in Block XIII, Waikari Survey District, and bounded as follows; commencing at the mid-point on the abutment of Lake Road on the south-western boundary of Section 5, Glenmark Settlement; thence westerly 1400 links, northerly 900 links, north-easterly 1560 links, easterly 900 links, southerly 1900 links, and again westerly 700 links to the commencing point; be all the aforesaid linkages more or less, and as may be further defined by the erection of white-painted posts.
“‘(22) The Heathcote River and all its tributaries from the Lincoln Road Bridge to the Ferry Road Bridge, and the Estuary from the Ferry Road Bridge to the Pleasant Point Bridge and across to Shag Rock.’’

Amending Open Season for Game in the North Canterbury Acclimatization District
PURSUANT to the Wildlife Act 1953, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby amends the notice as published in the Supplement dated 27 February 1952 to the New Zealand Gazette of 21 February 1952 by omitting, from the section headed “Special Conditions” in that part of the notice on page 291 relating to the North Canterbury Acclimatization District, the following words:
“2. No device or structure other than a hut made of scrub or rushes or a mudhole or mai-mai shall be used from or out of which native game may be taken or killed on or near Lake Ellesmere”.

Pond Feeding in Marlborough Acclimatization District
PURSUANT to powers vested in him by section 17 (2) of the Wildlife Act 1953, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby consents to any person placing any grain or any other food in or near the margin of any pond or any other water within the Marlborough Acclimatization District with the intention of attracting game for the purpose of hunting or killing that game.
This authority remains in force until 30 April 1954 from the date hereof.

Drainage Boards Specified to Nominate a Representative to the Pollution Advisory Council
PURSUANT to section 3 of the Waters Pollution Act 1953, the Minister of Marine hereby specifies that
The North Shore Drainage Board,
The Auckland Metropolitan Drainage Board,
The Hutt Valley Drainage Board,
The Christchurch Drainage Board, and
The Dunedin Drainage and Sewerage Board
shall be the Drainage Boards which shall nominate a representative to the Pollution Advisory Council established by the Waters Pollution Act 1953.
