NOTICE is hereby given—
(1) That the following persons have been appointed by the Minister of Industries and Commerce as members of the Standards Council to hold office until 31 March 1955:

NEW ZEALAND—NORTH ISLAND—WELLINGTON HARBOUR Radiotelephone Station Established
MARINERS are advised that a new radiotelephone station has been established in the Signal Station on Beacon Hill.
Details:
Call sign: ZLEG.
Calling frequency (ship): 2182 kc/s.
Answering frequency (station): 2012 kc/s.
Working frequency (ship): 2012 or 2162 kc/s.
Working frequency (station): 2012 kc/s.
Listening watches: continuous.
Only calls for information on harbour conditions, berthing, or safety of navigation will be accepted. Messages to or from shipping companies or their agents are not permitted.
When a vessel's berth is given over the R/T, this must under all circumstances be confirmed by lamp on rounding Halswell Point.
Emergency: Where an exceptional incident or condition arises which may affect the safety of a ship, Beacon Hill will call the ship concerned on 2182 kc/s. Once contact has been established, normal working frequencies will be used. Emergency transmissions on 2182 kc/s. are under the overall control of Wellington Radio (ZLW).

Notice to Persons Affected by Applications for Licences Under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act 1936
Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor Spirit
Mount Buses, Ltd., Heath Street, Mount Maunganui South, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from two pumps to be installed on proposed service-station and bus-depot premises at Heath Street, Mount Maunganui South.
Marlborough Farm Machinery Service Co., Ltd., Beach Road, Kaikoura, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump to be installed on garage premises at Beach Road, Kaikoura.
Taylor’s Well Drilling Co., Ltd., Wansbeck Street Extension, Oamaru, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump to be installed at engineering premises at Wansbeck Street Extension, Oamaru.
L. M. C. Graham, Raumati Beach, has applied for permission to take over from Raumati Stores, Ltd., motor-spirits retail licence for one pump and to change the retail selling point from present site to a new position about 50 yards and on the corner of Raumati and Rosetta Roads, Raumati Beach.
Kanieri-Hokitika Sawmills, Ltd., Kanieri Road, Hokitika, has applied for permission to shift the company’s pump from its present position at Kanieri Road, Hokitika, to a new site approximately 4 chains away, near the site of its new office.
Belfast Garage, Ltd., 713 North Road, Belfast, has applied for permission to shift the company’s six pumps a distance of 64 ft. from kerbside position at 713 North Road, Belfast, to a new location on the company’s own property.
Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should, not later than 4 March 1954, submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender.
