POVERTY BAY CATCHMENT BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Waipaoa River Flood-control Scheme Loan, 1952

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and amendments thereto, the Poverty Bay Catchment Board hereby resolves as follows:—

‘‘That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of one hundred and ninety-nine thousand four hundred and fifty pounds (£199,450) to be known as the Waipaoa River Flood-control Scheme Loan, 1952, authorized to be raised by the Poverty Bay Catchment Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing the Board’s proportion of the cost of carrying out the Waipaoa River Flood-control Scheme the said Poverty Bay Catchment Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 4·615d. in the pound on the rateable capital value of all lands classified as ‘A’, 3·018d. in the pound on the rateable capital value of all lands classified as ‘B’, 1·775d. in the pound on the rateable capital value of all lands classified as ‘C’, 0·888d. in the pound on the rateable capital value of all lands classified as ‘D’, 0·355d. in the pound on the rateable capital value of all lands classified at ‘E’, and 0·071d. in the pound on the rateable capital value of all lands classified as ‘F’, within the Waipaoa River Flood-control Scheme Special Rating Area as defined by a Classification List prepared and determined pursuant to provisions of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and by payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-five (35) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’’

The above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Poverty Bay Catchment Board held on Thursday, the 12th day of February 1953.

COROMANDEL COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

EXTRACT from minutes of proceedings of the Coromandel County Council meeting held on 10 December 1952:—

‘‘That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £2,000, authorized to be raised by the Coromandel County Council under the provisions of section 7 of the Local Bodies’ Finance Act 1921–22, the Local Government Loans Board Act 1926, and any other Act empowering the said Coromandel County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal one hundred and six pence (0·106d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the County of Coromandel; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the said loan, and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of seven years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’’

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of resolution passed at meeting of Council held on 10th December 1952.

NOTICE is hereby given in pursuance of section 232 of the Companies Act 1933, that a general meeting of the above company will be held at the office of Holland and Kerr, 143 Hereford Street, Christchurch, on Thursday, the 5th day of March 1953, at 10 a.m., for the purpose of having an account laid before the meeting showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the liquidator, and also of determining by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the liquidator thereof shall be disposed of.

HAMILTON CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Security Rate Domains Improvement Loan, 1952, £20,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Hamilton City Council hereby resolves—

‘‘That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £20,000, authorized to be raised by the Hamilton City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of undertaking improvements at Seddon Park, Galloway Park, and the Lake Domain, the said Hamilton City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-tenth of a penny in the pound (£1) upon the rateable value (unimproved) of all rateable property within the City of Hamilton; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of eighteen years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’’

I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed by the Hamilton City Council at a duly constituted meeting held on the 7th day of January 1953.
