Price Order No. 1504 (Amendment No. 3 of Price Order
No. 1147—Bread)
Pursuant to the Control of Prices Act 1947, the Price
Tribunal hereby makes the following amending Price
Order:
- This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 1504, and
shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order
No. 1147* (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order). - This Order shall come into force on the 4th day of
December 1953. - The principal Order is hereby amended by adding
thereto the following clause:
‘SPECIAL PRICES WHERE EXTRAORDINARY CHARGES INCURRED
‘6. Notwithstanding anything in the foregoing provisions
of this Order, and subject to such conditions, if any, as it
thinks fit, the Tribunal, on application by any wholesaler or
retailer, may authorize special maximum prices in respect of
any bread to which this Order applies where special circumstances exist or for any reason extraordinary charges (freight
or otherwise) are incurred by the wholesaler or retailer.
Any authority given by the Tribunal under this clause may
apply with respect to a specified lot or consignment of bread
or may relate generally to all bread sold by the wholesaler
or retailer while the approval remains in force.’

Result of Poll for Proposed Bridge Rate
Pursuant to the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the
following notice received by the Minister of Finance
from the Chairman of the Coromandel County Council is hereby
published.

COUNTY OF COROMANDEL
Pursuant to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926,
I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the County
of Coromandel, taken on the 31st day of October 1953 on the
proposal to authorize the said County Council to make and
levy a bridge rate of three-farthings in the pound on the
capital value of all rateable property in the county for the
purpose of providing funds for the reconstruction of bridges
under the jurisdiction of the Council:
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 453.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 547.
Informal votes, 9.
I therefore declare that the proposal was not carried.

Pursuant to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loan Act 1926,
I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the
Borough of Taumarunui taken on the 31st day of October
1953 to borrow the sum of £73,000 for a new water supply:
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 355.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 68.
