NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928
NOTICE is hereby given under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928 that the Whangarei County Council proposes, under the provisions of the said Act, to take the pieces of land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of a public road; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the pieces of land required to be taken is deposited in the office of the said Council situated in Rose Street, Whangarei, and is open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the taking of such land who have any well-grounded objections to the taking of the said lands must lodge their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Clerk, Whangarei County Council, Rose Street, Whangarei.

DECLARATION OF CHAIRMAN
PURSUANT to section 42 of the Rating Act 1925, I hereby give notice that a poll of ratepayers of the County of Coromandel was taken on 31 October 1953, when the proposal to adopt the system of rating on the unimproved value in place of rating on the capital value as heretofore was carried.
The number of votes recorded to adopt the system of rating on unimproved value was 575.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 416.
Informal, 14.
The proposal to adopt the system of rating on the unimproved value was therefore carried.
