R. J. Saunders, Ward Street, Springlands, Blenheim, has applied for a licence to manufacture paua shell for sale.

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor Spirit
T. London and Sons, Ltd., Murupara R.D., has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from two pumps to be installed on proposed service-station and garage premises on the Murupara - Te Whaiti State Highway, near the Galatea turn-off, two miles from Murupara.
C. W. Woods, Linton Camp Corner, Main Road, Linton, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump to be installed on service-station and garage premises at Main Road, Linton.
W. G. E. Brown, De Luxe Service Station, Whangamata, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump to be installed on proposed service-station premises on the corner of Ocean Beach Road and the Main Whitianga - Waihi Highway, at Whangamata.
Whangarei Sand Supplies, Ltd., Lower Cameron Street, Whangarei, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump to be installed at its premises on the breastwork at Waterfront, Whangarei.
Perkins Bros., Ltd., 92 Palmerston Street, Westport, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit otherwise than through pumps ex own depot at cartage-contracting premises at Derby Street, Westport.
J. A. Hazelwood and Co., Ltd., Main Road, Upper Hutt, has applied for permission to change the retail selling point of one pump a distance of 150 ft. to the rear of premises in a proposed service lane.

Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should, not later than 3 December 1953, submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender. TIMARU CITY COUNCIL

Pursuant to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, I hereby given notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the City of Timaru, taken on the 31st day of October 1953, on the proposal of the Timaru City Council to borrow the sum of £87,500 for purchasing as a going concern the assets and liabilities of the Timaru Gas, Coal, and Coke Company, Limited:

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 1,641. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 2,002.

I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.

BOROUGH OF HAVELOCK NORTH

Notice of Result of Loan Poll

Pursuant to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Borough of Havelock North, taken on the 31st day of October 1953, on the proposal of the Havelock North Borough Council to borrow a sum of sixty-seven thousand pounds (£67,000) for the purpose of sealing streets, concrete footpath construction, bridge replacement and improvements, water reticulation extensions, and sewer reticulation extensions:

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 259. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 266.

I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.
