Plants Declared to be Noxious Weeds in Masterton County
(Notice No. Ag. 5528)

PURSUANT to the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Director-General of Agriculture, acting under a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture for the purpose of the said Act, hereby publishes the following special order made by the Masterton County Council on the 8th day of September 1953.

SPECIAL ORDER
THAT in pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 3 of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950 the Masterton County Council hereby resolves and declares by way of special order that the plants mentioned in the Schedule hereto (being plants mentioned in the First Schedule to the said Act) are noxious weeds within the County of Masterton.

SCHEDULE
Burdock (Arctium, any species).
Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare).
Heath (Erica lusitanica and Erica arborea).

BOROUGH OF UPPER HUTT
Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to Raise a Loan
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loan Act 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Borough of Upper Hutt, taken on the 31st day of October 1953 on the proposal of the Upper Hutt Borough Council to borrow the sum of three hundred and seventy-eight thousand five hundred pounds (Β£378,500) for the purpose of providing sewer-drainage reticulation in the Borough of Upper Hutt.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 857. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 480. Informal, 17.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
