Altering Representation of a Combined District on the
Wellington Harbour Board

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 14th day of
October 1953
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the 17th day of
June 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General,
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council, ordered and declared that one member of the
Wellington Harbour Board shall be elected by the electors
of the Counties of Hutt and Makara, of the Borough of
Eastbourne, and of the Town District of Tawa Flat:
And whereas the said Town District of Tawa Flat has
been constituted a borough, and it is expedient to make
provision for the representation on the said Board of the
said combined district and to select and appoint a principal
authority for the purpose of such elections by the electors
of the said combined district:
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 30 of the Harbours
Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council,
hereby orders and declares that one member of the Wellington
Harbour Board shall be elected by the electors of the Counties
of Hutt and Makara and of the Boroughs of Eastbourne and
Tawa Flat in lieu of the election of one member by the
electors of the Counties of Hutt and Makara, of the Borough
of Eastbourne, and of the Town District of Tawa Flat, and
hereby selects and appoints the Hutt County Council to be
the principal authority for the purpose of such elections by
the electors of the said combined district.

Consenting to Stopping Road in Block XI, Rangiriri Survey
District, Raglan County

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 149 of the Public Works Act 1928,
His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby
consents to the Raglan County Council stopping the portion
of road described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road permitted to be
stopped: 1 rood 10.4 perches.
Adjoining or passing through Lots 4 and 5, D.P. 23255, being
Section 37 and part Section 36.
Situated in Block XI, Rangiriri Survey District (Auckland
R.D.). (S.O. 35744.)
In the South Auckland Land District; as the same is
more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D.
140670, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works
at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Declaring Portion of the Waiorongomai Loop Road and
Battery Road in the Piako County to be County Road

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 21st day of
October 1953
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 112 of the Public Works Act 1928,
His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby
orders and declares that the portions of road described in
the Schedule hereto shall on and after the date of this Order
in Council become county road.

SCHEDULE
FIRSTLY, all that portion of the Waiorongomai Loop Road in
the South Auckland Land District, situated in Block XII,
Aroha Survey District, Piako County, commencing at a point
349 links north-west of the southern corner of Section 56 of
the aforesaid Block XII and proceeding thence in an easterly
direction generally for a distance of approximately 50 chains
and terminating 200 links north-east of the eastern corner of
Section 58 of the aforesaid Block XII, and marked A-B on
the plan hereinafter referred to.

Secondly, all that portion of Battery Road in the said
land district and county, situated in Block XII, Aroha Survey
District, commencing at a point 150 links south-west of the
southern corner of Section 62 of the aforesaid Block XII and
proceeding thence in a north-easterly direction for a distance
of approximately 11.5 chains and terminating at the eastern
corner of Section 61 of the aforesaid Block XII, and marked
C-D on the plan hereinafter referred to.
As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan
marked P.W.D. 141423, deposited in the office of the Minister
of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Appointment of Member of Government Service Tribunal

PURSUANT to section 3 of the Government Service Tribunal
Act 1948, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council,
and on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, hereby
appoints
James William Gideon Davidson, Esquire, of Wellington,
to be a member of the Government Service Tribunal for a
term of three years commencing on the twelfth day of
October, one thousand nine hundred and fifty-three.

Altering the Boundaries of the Special Area in the Sounds
(Fiordland) National Park

At the Government House at Wellington, this 14th day of
October 1953
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 11 of the National Parks Act 1952,
His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby alters
the boundaries of the special area in the Sounds (Fiordland)
National Park by excluding therefrom certain lands which
are no longer deemed suitable for inclusion in the special area,
and to give effect to the exclusion of these lands as aforesaid
the boundaries of the special area shall be those as set forth
in the Schedule hereto, and that Schedule is hereby substituted
for the Eighth Schedule to the said Act.

SCHEDULE
SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area, being part of the Sounds (Fiordland) National
Park, containing by estimation 128,000 acres, more or less, and
bounded as follows:
On the north generally by the watershed of Junction Burn
and the Doon River and the south-west arm and middle
fiord of Lake Te Anau; on the east by Lake Te Anau; on
the south by the south fiord of Lake Te Anau and the watershed
of Esk and Gorge Burns; and on the north-west by a line
through Mount Irene to include Lake Duncan. As shown on
the plan marked L. and S. 4/300/13A, deposited in the Head
Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and
thereon edged red.

Vesting the Control of a Reserve in the Huntly West Citizens'
Association, Incorporated

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has
been duly set apart as a reserve for a site for a
community centre:
And whereas it is expedient that the control of the said
reserve should be vested in the Huntly West Citizens'
Association, Incorporated:
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 17 of the Public
Reserves and Domains Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-
General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council, hereby vests the control of the said
reserve in the Huntly West Citizens' Association, Incorporated.
